Terror attacks in Paris.

We're actually wracking our brains trying to figure out strategies to process them more quickly. http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/syria-refugees-u-s-centres-1.3308576

How about this for quick processing..

We continue to bury our head in the sand.

If you look at the most conservative of estimates, there are at least 1% of the 1.5 billion Muslims (1.5 million) worldwide that have beliefs are radicalized to the point where violent extremism is not beyond then.

France and Germany have allowed a continual stream of Muslims into their country for the last 10 years. Given our lax border control, how many sleeper cells are sitting here waiting for the right opportunity?

Very horrible attack, but that statement is very extreme. There are non extreme Muslims and they far outweigh the extremists
Just thinking that where we live they're all over the place - Costco, etc. However, they're predominantly middle class and many, if not most, are highly educated. This is, of course, not the situation in France - and it's about to get much worse. One thing I've been curious about - Do you know if the Islamic Center here is predominantly Sunni or Shia? I can't imagine those sects getting along here, if they can't anywhere else in the world...

What is a non extreme muslim? Is that one in which does not believe in and follow their religious teachings? Last I checked muslims follow the koran. It commands them to lay in wait and eliminate anyone who does not believe in its teachings. Please tell me what I am missing here.

Just out of curiosity how many Muslims have you met?

To hsv: I would believe Sunni would be the biggest sect in the USA, but no facts to back it just a wild guess

Then why don't they rise up to stop them from soiling their religion? It doesn't take an 'extremist' to stop a bully. Just some one with fortitude.
Then I suppose WBC isn't soiling Christianity. There are extremists of each and every religions, but Islam is by far the most confusing.

But the thing about Islam is that there are divisions upon divisions upon divisions, and they dislike each other even when they have similar beliefs. For example: both Iraq and Iran are Shia but Iraq is Arabic and Iran is Persian. They don't get along like you would think. There really isn't a one unified Islam and the media portrays certain aspects of different types and gets it all jumbled up.

Was that the subject ?

I'm typing by phone so I accidentally hit send before I wanted to.

Just explain that real slowly to the surviving family members of three thousand at the World Trade Centers and the morgues in Paris tonight.

Goodnight.

Well if you are going to take that route of stereotypical thinking in which someone actually tries to explain something to you then just save me the trouble by saying "hey I disagree or don't care because I've already made up my mind about 1.5 billion people in the world, and no amount of facts that you show me will ever convince me there is a possibility of good in those people".

I believe Iran is predominately Shia, not Sunni.
