Game Thread: OFFICIAL POST-GAME THREAD - Bama vs. Barn...

Well I always say that Its always on the offense because the defense did enough to win. The offense was not effected on so many levels but it is what it is.

I have to disagree a bit. We stopped them how many times on 3rd down? Once or twice it seemed. you can't leave any team on the field that long.

Some you guys are pathetic. Kids went out and executed "what was given to them". Evidently, we don't have any "quick slants" in the gameplan until we are behind in the 4th quater. Game rests squarley on the OC. Roll Tide! If we make it, Roll Tide! If we don't, Roll Tide!

I thought the gameplan was horrendous, but there was a whole lot of poor execution, also.

Outcoached and outplayed. Saban does NOT understand Auburn and how much more they "want it" One pass to the Tight End against MSU for 9 yards and then no more in that game and no passes to the tight end other than one about 15 yards downfield to my recollection today. Our defense was on it's heels for most of the game. Auburn has gotten better as the year progressed while we have gotten worse. Injuries at LB have played a role in that ,no doubt... but our offense obtaining 1st downs to counter is nothing to fear. Why was the safety so deep on the 3rd an long in the 1st quarter when we blitzed forcing a quick pass? Gus will get a lucrative contract extension just as Terry Bownden did after beating an extremely bad Alabama team in 1997 so get used to seeing an Auburn offense that picks our defense apart. Officiating was not a factor in this year's game as it has been in previous years...this loss is on coaching and lack of a "short" game on offense. Roll Tide and all that but we got outcoached today.

I’ll just say something I’ve thought since last year, then leave it alone. We will never be back in the playoffs with the inconsistent QB play we have now. At some point, you should improve as the season progresses. The two steps forward then three steps back is not something you can afford at that position.

Agree 100%. We always play tight against the barn but we usually shake it off after a quarter and play good ball.

But not tonight. This was a terrible performance in Every phase of the game - a Team loss.

Maybe it’s different if we aren’t without 5+ starters, maybe not.

But we LOST tonight far more than aub “won”.

Nah, Auburn outplayed us all night. They dominated the LOS and converted 3rd downs. There was nothing flukey about it. We made mistakes, but Auburn had a hand in forcing many of them. We have honestly been lucky that injuries haven't cost us more games this year. Perfect storm, wasn't our night.

Not a bad idea. At least we would know what we are on offense.
My gut, emotional reaction after this game was that I wanted to see a new OC. I always felt bad about this hire, and other than blowing out nobodies, I haven't been very pleased. Of course I am biased...

No excuses. No reasons. We lost. Time to regroup. One loss is not the end I don't care if it is our hated rival. Now we have to worry about winning the bowl game because historically we don't after these types of losses. I'm sucking it up. Roll Tide!!

Amen I am old enough to remember the DARK AGES. 11-1 and the sky is falling is just crazy. Please calm down folks, it is one game, we got beat, it happens. This team is still really good, just need to tweak some stuff, and mostly get some guys healthy. I am never giving up on this team or staff. Just remember we will still be in top 6 or so, so many are still below us. You cannot be perfect every year, but we are so close. SO suck it up take it like real BAMA FANS, we are far from done. Aubs beat us, but they are still 2 loss team, so we still have a better record right now. Losses hurt more now than ever, to many forget how tough it was when we lost multiple times a year. I mean really 1 loss does not kill this Dynasty, just slows it a bit.

Tua wouldn't have been the answer but hes to much of a player to leave off the field entirely. Though Its asking too much for this offensive coaching staff to work him in a few plays here and there that would be to unvanilla for us.

I say this after every loss. Thankfully it’s not too often :)

The sun will still rise in the morning and the Son still reigns. It’s all good.

I’ve had enough football and analysis for this weekend. Time to watch a movie.

FWIW, I’m proud of this team. I’m not sure there is any team playing as good as the barners are now. They deserved the win. A lot of our self destructing was because of the crowd and them playing well. Hats off to Auburn, they earned the win and the spoils that go with it.

We either make the playoffs or we don’t. I’m not going to lose any sleep over it.

11-1, and the villagers have picked up their torches to burn everything down. The web is such a wonderful place.

This is the best rivalry in college football because both teams win regularly. Congrats to Auburn. Congrats to our players and coaches for a wonderful season.

And for some of you ... Be embarrassed for your sense of outrage and entitlement.

Some of y'all think that because we've had great success over the last decade that somehow we can't call this disaster for what it is.

It isn’t that. Some are just acting like it is the end of what we know as Bama football. We have had games like this before in the past 4 years.

Haven't read through the thread. My apologies for any redundancy. We got our tails whipped by a lesser team. LBs were very obviously a problem. While I hate that we lost; I feel like we should have. We are not physically able to play at a championship level right now.

If a few chips fall the right way, we will make the CFP. A healthy Alabama is the best team in CFB. I love our chances!!! If not, our guys had a great season!!! RTR!!!

When the OL doesn't protect the QB or open running lanes coupled with questionable play calling coupled with a defensive front who can't pressure their QB coupled with receivers who can't get open or fall down, this sort of thing happens. I don't think Bama is out of the CFP picture yet. Though I'm not sure I want to see this level of performance go to it. That's not true. Of course I do. The other one or two loss teams have some pretty bad loses. So I guess there's a chance. Geez. I hate Auburn. But hats off to them. They deserved to win this one.

It should've been very clear after the LSU game that we have a very "Blah" offensive game plan. We are working on a "programmed" offensive game plan. We have 1. Run the ball and then 2. Throw long. That's it!!!! There is no creativity or usage of the slots/TE in the intermediate passing. I never thought I would actuall long for the Jet Sweep or the Smoke Draw!
