Scott Cochran is Leaving for Georgia

I've kept this to myself for the last few years, but I think we're long overdue for a change in S&C.

Best of luck to him - good to see Kirby giving up an on the field coaching position to a guy who has literally never coached football.
I feel the same way. I mean, the guy really did a great job for us for a long time but maybe the routine got a bit stale. Anyway, turn the page and hope for a good replacement.

Meh, he's just a weight room guy. He doesn't tackle, doesn't block, nor kick, catch, throw, nor run da' ball. So long.

I'm not going to be all doom and gloom about this departure. Yes, I'm upset that he ended up at UGA but I have never known of a football dynasty ending because the S&C coach left. I think it's an overreaction by Herbie. Does he think Cochran has been propping up Saban all these years? We'll find a replacement and move on just like with the other departures. No significant decline in the program until perhaps after Saban retires IMO.

A few thoughts. Reading that Saban didn’t put up much of a fight, yet CSC isn’t allowed to say bye to the team?

I feel like if Saban let him go and didn’t fight much why not let him say bye?

I think it's weird timing even if we have just a few more days in the 4th Qt. program before spring break. It's like Yeah, Yeah is leaving without finishing the job this year. Oh well, next "coach" up!

Well, he is going to the ENEMY. Hopefully, Jawga will LOSE SEVERAL games this year.

Because when you give him that audience, and are no longer signing the checks, you have zero control or influence over what is said. With the way the transfer portal is, I don't want another team's coach anywhere near my players.

As four him leaving, everyone needs to challenge themselves professionally from time to time. I don't begrudge him that at all... likewise, new ideas and procedures brought in to a program can serve to breathe new life into the weight room. We'll be fine. We'r still have some of the best athletes, facilities, and support in the world.

I'm seriously starting to dislike Kirby, not so much that CSC is leaving Alabama but it's that Diet Saban seems to be obsessed with being Nick Saban.

Not any more than anyone else. However, giving up a field position coach for a S&C guy with no ST experience speaks for itself, IMO...

Hear me out, remember all the shenanigans Kirby pulled on his way out the door, the negative recruiter, getting players to transfer, and poaching coaches. I feel like Kirby will sell his soul to mark a W against Nick Saban and Alabama. He tried really hard to pull Cochran to UGA when he left UA. Because Kirby sensed it working there, and from a fans perspective Cochran was the soul of the team for better than a decade. He still ended up pulling Cochran away from here. I think Kirby would sell his soul to beat Nick Saban, and is literally doing everything can to do now to secure that W against Bama. We play UGA next season, if you don't think there wont be some 30 for 30 type espionage during this transition, sadly fooling yourselves.

I've seen TEACHERS who Yell and SCREAM all the time and not MOTIVATE students. You can SPEAK SOFTLY and ACCOMPLISH much more. Sometimes "a LOOK' can accomplish more than a SCREAM! So, who will be the NEW S & C coach?

He’s doing it for the recruiting. Smart knows CSC won’t do much or be of jeopardy to the team in any way.
