OK, let me be more clear:

Colloidal silver has been used for centuries for its antimicrobial properties - mainly in wound care but also in urinary catheters and other similar applications.

I do not advocate internal ingestion of the product at all.

The product was being touted to kill this virus on surfaces (that's what I heard, anyway). That may be possible but it would need study to prove it and in any case there are likely better and cheaper alternatives (like bleach or similar products).

Science does indeed show colloidal silver has antimicrobial properties. That's where he was half right/wrong in declaring there was no science at all about using silver.

Yeah, THC kills many solid tumors in a petri dish but anyone using THC as their SOLE means to fight cancer is beyond the bounds of logic (yes, I've had to actually tell people that doing this would almost assuredly lead to their untimely and unnecessary demise).

Drinking silver is not recommended. In any case the side effects are likely to outweigh any benefit and perhaps even leave one MORE susceptible to infection.

i think i have the same thing, or something similar. i cannot eat broccoli or cauliflower without retching. even having something with broccoli in it (like a smoothie or juice) where i can't obviously taste it will leave me feeling nauseated. the weird part is, i have no issues at all with kale, cabbage, or brussels sprouts.

That is strange. All of those are anathema to me. I can't even begin to describe the sulfide tastes. About 15-20% of the population carry the gene. Its evolutionary purpose was to detect toxins...

yeah, supposed to go to Seattle in a couple of weeks and having that discussion with the wife. Should we go/should we stay home. P.S. This (the blue discoloration) happens sometimes with amiodarone, an arrhythmia drug. Methemoglobinemia can be hereditary (like the Fugate family) or acquired (like with quinine based drugs). Oxygen carrying capacity is not affected in any meaningful way, but it sure can scare the hell out of you when you're trying to figure out why your patient is blue and comfortable with normal blood gases.

My older sister spent three months in CICU on amiodarone, turning blue, before passing. It had wrecked her liver and lungs. OTOH, we had a neighbor who was on it for at least ten years before passing when in his upper 80s...

Sorry about your sister. It's a great drug that sometimes has undesired outcomes. It was a bit overused for a while but its used has been curtailed a bit. I don't see it as often as I once did. I see more CCB's and beta blockers along with flecainide, which has its own drawbacks (they all do). Sometimes the best bad choice is still the best choice.

The brand I've always used is the BioResponse microencapsulated. DIM is, in the end, the end result of the digestion of cruciform veggies. The encapsulation makes sure it's not digested prematurely. The company is out of Colorado and I used to buy directly from them. However, it's cheaper through Amazon. I take the 150mg caps, which is the equivalent of a bunch of broccoli. I'm cursed with the super-taster gene, so to me, broccoli is extremely bitter, with an aftertaste of iron filings. My cruciforms have to come in capsule form...

You could fast track a vaccine and use millions of people as test subjects. It is possible to speed things up and still be relatively confident in safety and efficacy, but there would still be concerns and it would still likely take 6 months to one year at a bare minimum for approval in a streamlined process - perhaps longer to ramp up production.

The vaccine developer there is actively trying to deceive everyone and has someone willing to believe the lie (Trump). I am so glad there are still truthful and logical people in the room.

FWIW, if you have not received the flu shot - get it. The place you are most likely to be exposed to COVID-19 is either your doctor's office or the hospital, and the flu is the thing that is most likely to require either of those types of visits in coming months. The flu shot is very effective this year - worth getting it.

I've posted it before, but I started using the K2 after my bypass and after research. Six months after the bypass, I had a followup cath. I had had two bypasses - LAD and RCA. The RCA had been a problem for years, stented and once referred to by my cardiologist, mid-procedure, as a "concrete tunnel." The followup cath showed that the RCA had opened up and was functioning normally. The venous graft had withered away. IDK what else to attribute such a 180 degree reversal to other than the K2. If so, it was doing what research has shown it should do...
