He made throws the other guys just can’t.

He brought a spark and together with Roydell pulled us through.

He did great considering he hasn’t been getting a lot of snaps until this week and his OL was getting him killed.
Milroe made great long throws in game 1. I didn't see what you might call "great" throws by Simpson. He was 5 of 9. Some were good and much needed completions. But I'm not going hog wild on Simpson just yet. Milroe may have gotten us 40 points today. Who knows? I'm more concerned with the OL. Whoever the quarterback is, they need protection. And the RBs need holes.

It makes no sense. Rees has always been a run first kind of guy. I don't know what he is doing.
The only thing I can think of is Saban knew there was no way we could possibly lose this game and told Rees “make them pass all game” but I just can’t believe that. It’s just…nuts.

Did the Crimson Tide look this bad because they had alligator for dinner during the week. I’d rather have roasted pig/pulled pork even though it’s not Razorback week!

It would help if Rees wasn’t hellbent on making this a passing team. I think he finally realized that in the 2nd half with Simpson. I honestly don’t know what to expect next week. I could see Lane beating us by 4 TDs. I can also see Golding having no answer for our run game.
I really don’t understand what Tommy is doing so far this year. I’m sure he’s a capable coach but so far it feels like he’s gonna call what he’s gonna call no matter what’s going on

It's a win. That's almost all I can say about today.

Ty Simpson might have benefited greatly from an off-season getting the #1 snaps. We can't tell much about that at this point.

Jalen Milroe definitely benefited from those snaps but no QB is going to be successful if they can't trust their O'Line.

Buchner simply doesn't look like the answer. He served to display far more nerves than Milroe did against Texas, despite having more experience and playing lesser competition.

We have problems on the O-Line beyond inexperience and I'm at a loss as to why. We've made one coaching change without improvement. I'm not sure what's actually required there but we don't yet seem to have the answer...
Got to fix the OL, especially the left tackle. One thing is for certain, we are not yet ready for the SEC grind.

Yeah, no situational awareness

I'm just now entering the thread and haven't tried to read all the background, but, IMO, this started a couple of years ago. I think Saban made a crucial mistake in recruiting. He made a decision that the game was going to return to heavy running and this turned out to be wrong. We are saddled with overweight, unagile OLs. We have a 370 lb LT who takes two seconds to move 4' to the left. Our OL is porous to fast. agile DL and LBs, not to mention blitzing DBs. It may take a cycle or two of recruiting to correct the error...

As always.... I'm going to keep it short and simple.

OL- We better find a way to get them situated. We just gave out the game tapes: Blitz aggressive and force us to throw the ball. We are real bad at that.

RB- I think Roydell Williams might be the answer at RB. Jase isn't getting it done.

QB=- I'm confused to why Milroe didn't get a shot to play in the game. His feet would've extended the drive at best. TB suprised me. he had the best week of practice and he sucked big time in today's game. Simpson did okay. He needs to work on feeling the pressure, other than that, he did okay. Have we found the answer ? No.

Not a big fan of Booger but he nailed it today when he said Alabama is trying to run an offense that NONE of their QB’s can run efficiently. They need to get back to running the ball. Thought he made a good point

Earle... We have transfer portal. We can correct that in offseason.

The Rumor is that Milroe didn't handle something well off the field and/or he was done with the team if he got benched.

But those are both very much rumors. No idea if there is any truth to either

I also think the performance of the oline today was in direct correlation to Milroe being benched. I saw a group today who basically quit on their team. I've coached and played sports a long time and I have no doubt that's what we saw today. The head man needs to quickly get control of his team before this goes off the rails.

I'm also concerned that he has not been able to replace the coaching brain drain following the 2020 season.

There are only so many great ones out there.

No, Saban wanted to see if Buchner or Simpson was better than Milroe. Now he must decide if Simpson is good enough to start.
I'm thinking it was something similar to this honestly. How many of us honestly believe we would lost if Milroe played/started today? And better yet, how many of us believe this team would had scored more with him under center?

I honestly believe he would have been good for at least 1-2 more tds against this team tonight. Not saying he wouldn't have made any mistakes, thinking the offense would have moved more based off his recent two outings
