Milroe would be the best option if we ran the triple option, the old 90s Nebraska offense.

.... well.... our passing numbers do resemble the wishbone era of the 70's... although the Rutledge boys and Todd threw it pretty well if needed....

How quickly you forget. No, Milroe does not give you the best chance to win. He is a one read passer. If the primary receiver is open, there is a decent chance that he will get the guy the ball no matter the length of the pass required. But if that guy is covered, the play is over. He cannot read the field or defenses right now.

If he is the answer, prepare for a painful season. And if the o line doesn't get fixed, it will be a long season with any of these guys at QB.
I don't know why people continue to hang on to the notion he gives Bama the best chance to win........

We’re getting on the wrong people. This isn’t on the QB’s, this is on the HC and the OC. There are five top rated QB’s on this team, you’re telling me they are all can’t do it? Well then who recruited these guys? I think there is talent in that QB room and they’re being handcuffed by the play calling. Scheme is the most important thing to QB success. Hooker at Va Tech, not good, Hooker in Knoxville, Heisman candidate. Penix in Indiana, not good, Penix in Washington, Heisman candidate. Nix not good, Nix at Oregon, Heisman candidate. The list is endless. The players need to be put in position to succeed and right now, they are not.

Top to bottom this is still one of the most talented teams in the country and all the big games are in front of us. This can be fixed but it needs to start with the play calling.

To put it simply, at this point we are arguing about which turd stinks the lest.

Plain and simple, the current problems do not get solved anywhere except the off season. Going at this rate, Bama is looking at a 4 lose season and playing in a bowl game the day after christmas. God, I hope im wrong.
On these points I think we can largely agree

I think the issue is that none of our QBs look all that great and our OL is terrible. Ty went 5/9 for 73 yards against a bad team. It's not like he went off.

I'm not against Ty being the guy I'm just not entirely convinced he is. What I do think is he should have had more snaps I the 1st 2 games.

I agree with you there......I think Ty should have had more playing time

Thank you. This argument was born of two seasons spent watching Bryce Young do Bryce Young things when things broke down. Jalen's a gamer, but he's not BY.

The backup QB’s not getting more playing time is on Saban.

TY went 5/9 but 3 of those misses were fired OB while running for his life. So 5/6?
Combine that w/4-5 sacks where he got clobbered and hung onto the ball and I’d say it really was almost impressive. His slide scared me and he could have gottten a few more yards, but look out…
If that was his moment to figure out his confidence, I think he may have. Him scoring that TD late was not a coincidence..it was a building block!!!
He has swagger…he needed some snaps.
I may get flamed here, don’t care…I think this kid has moxy, just needs the chance to walk it and talk it…

This OL reminds me of Buckstep Bob OLs. It’s been absolutely atrocious!!! Tom Brady could be back there and he’s going to look terrible. That said I think all the QBs have been bad. I’m fairly certain that CNS wanted a legit No. 1 from the transfer portal for that very reason. We struck out in free agency and it is what it is. This will likely be a 3+ loss season. I know some will absolutely die at that thought but after the Shula and Dubose eras I’ll survive. CFB looks nothing like it was even 5 years ago and it’s going to only get worse IMO.

It seemed to me that the team also responded the best with him in there. The OL definitely were better Run Blocking for TS than they have been all season.

Yep. Some people are just gamers. I really like Milroe as a teammate. He seems to be everything you want as a person. I also think he made a huge mistake in not transferring.

lI do not wish bash any of our players. They all work hard and I respect them for that. It was clear today Buchner isn’t the answer. Ty is a better passer. Milroe gives us the best chance. How many times did Ty get sacked today? Again some of those end up being positive plays because of Milroe‘s athleticism. Experience and scheme are what we are lacking.
Tom Brady would have been destroyed out there yesterday.

Several posters…well, one…kept saying it was because USF was tired. What reason did they have to be tired? They got over an hour of rest in the rain delay, and Bama’s offense wasn’t churning up a bunch of yards for the first 3 quarters. Some people are just blind and can’t or won’t see the intangibles.

The run game often does get better late in a game when the defenses get tired. Especially when you have fresh legs in Roydell Williams. I doubt South Florida had the depth to keep up.
