Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Bama@TAMU...

Great game….. but this is probably one of the worst games I have ever seen from a referee standpoint. The call on that negated the TD on the blocked field goal was absolutely ridiculous. A number of calls that went against us were questionable to say the least.

I was in the car for the first 3 quarters and streamed the radio feed. Gotta say Tyler Watts is an outstanding color analyst. He gave off Tony Romo vibes when he predicted the fake-toss/TE pass that unfortunately ended in the int. JPW wasn't bad, but TW is polished and always dialed in. Hope he keeps the gig for a while.
I was listening and heard Watts. I thought, "Wow, how did he know that?".

Complete side note here.....my best friend teaches at University of Incarnate Word in Texas. We were talking today, he was at their game.....their QB is Zach Calzada. I had no idea.

He’s getting better and better. He has to fix taking sacks. Some of those where on him. Tuck it and run Jalen. You’re too talented not to
some of throws milroe made were incredibly difficult ones to connect .. if he improves his mid range accuracy .. man that could be something .. forget his running ability

Wow....that crew? Oh my gosh. To say they stink just doesn t describe their incompetence.
i am done with incompetence .. its a conspiracy

there were couple against us made up ... the more important thing is nothing gets called against opposing teams unless its blatant.

As far as our mistakes - three of them bothered me - Burton stupidity, DAllas, Braswell ? hands to QB face ... we need to avoid those. False starts can be maybe pardoned in hostile environment

I think we can put the joyless murder ball slogan to bed , we catch them in a bad alignment and we have a nice gain, but on the critical downs when we need it we get stopped more times than not against a quality defense. We make a few but not consistent. ATM plan was simple stop the run, they did, and make them beat us with the pass ,and we did, joyless murder ball ain't happening, but miracles can happen.

we neither have talent on Oline or RB to make that happen

Most of ours were there for all to see. For such big people, our offensive. linemen are awfully twitchy.

Was it the most penalties 'Bama's ever had in winning under Saban? The graphic CBS showed was the last four losses with double-figure penalties. I understand half of them - Proctor true FR, center so-far-uncured chronic hitch, etc. But the a tight end got 3-4 of the false starts and that is totally unacceptable, playing with his hand in the dirt stance or not - also Danielson's divulging what the center's Dad had to say about his problems - difference in the cadence clap between Milroe and Bryce Young - was semi- but only semi-plausible.

Like that play was ever going to succeed. Milroe on 3rd and 19 rolling to his left, fakes a pitch and throws against his body to the one receiver on the route. Rees offensive genius strikes out again. Otherwise, like Milroe, maybe he's still growing into his new job ,too -

I don’t know if it was visible on tv but the A&M center was not snapping very accurately. Not as bad as ours but it slowed up the timing on a few critical plays.
Speaking of center snaps.

I don't think we had one bad snap yesterday and they didn't look as "hot" coming back. Some nice work to improve there!

Mrs. Basket Case and I are out of the country, and were unable to watch, but it sounds like aTm did exactly what I expected: shut down the run, and dare Milroe to pass.

They had success against the run and got some pressure. But both the OL and Milroe are clearly maturing. Despite aTm’s success especially early, the OL and Milroe combined to make their gamble blow up often enough to win the game.

Given that aTm‘s front seven is one of the best in the country, and they still lost using the expected game plan, I’m thinking that future DCs will have reason to pause their thinking.

From Jess’ wrap up, it would seem that both the OL and overall defense made good halftime adjustments and held the Aggies to only 3 points in the second half. Also, watched Saban’s press conference, and he seemed really confident for the rest of the season.

I do wonder about the injuries. Against a struggling Arkansas team, we may not need Moore and Burnip. But against the arnge, we will. With no idea as to the severity of Moore’s ankle or Burnip’s muscle pull, we can only hope.

Regardless, you have to love Milroe’s and the OL’s improvement.

No doubt the refs were highly inconsistent, but the OL still committed too many legitimate penalties. Nine presnap penalties is unacceptable.

But this game goes to the defense and Jalen Milroe. How we won that game with that many miscues is unbelievable, LOL!

Serious question about the penalties: HOW DO THEY GET FIXED? It has been happening 2 years now, especially on the O line. And, they seem to happen at bad times during the game. I know 1 or 2 were not legit, but most were. I don't know what they are doing in practice to try to fix it but it isn't working, at least for away games. I think they only practice "loud noise" situations on Thursday's. Maybe they should practice it 2 days or more per week for the next 2 away games?

9 IIRC where presnap. It's been a problem and I don't know what to do about it.

Frankly, from listening to CNS, I'm not sure he does either.

They said Seth’s Dad mentioned that it’s something to do with Milroe’s cadence.

That would make sense.
