Question: What is the rule re:offside when three men in motion at the snap?

Same question you have to ask is how the same crew could could have the official closest to catch rule Burton inbounds, have another overrule it, go to review where it showed he was indeed inbounds but letting the incomplete pass ruling stand? Or allow a mugging of our punter right in front of one official and no flag thrown? Two DPI’s where the DB played “through” the receivers’ back without a flag.

Autry’s crew should be relegated to middle school games.

When I first saw his face I started seeing "orange."

I'm not going to make a separate thread for this but..

What about the Safety/Pick 6 plays back to back?

They didn't review EITHER.

They just hurriedly rushed to get AU lined up for the final play and then end the game.

I mean look I don't think it was a safety....but REVIEW it.

I've seen the close up of Arnold's foot on the line.... but REVIEW it.

You and I dang well know if you swapped jersey's on those 2 plays Autry's crew is spending 5 mins looking at both plays.

I hate those Sob's

What do you have against middle school football players????

Thanks! Sounds like at a minimum it should have been offsetting. I’ve watched a lot of football but don’t think I have ever seen that scenario pop up.

You haven't watched a lot of Jason Autrey called games....🙄

That mugging happened right in front of Autrey...😖

Why is it offsetting though if the penalty caused the jump?
Because it is illegal to snap the ball, regardless of why you did it, while you have three players in motion.
If they had had no players in motion when the ball was snapped, and a Bama player was in the neutral zone, it would have been a penalty on Alabama.
If they had had three players moving and the Alabama player had made contact with a Barn player and no snap, it would have been a penalty.
If three offensive players are moving when the center snaps the ball and no defensive players are in the neutral zone, it is an offensive penalty.
Thus, to a competent officiating crew, offsetting.

Looking for help understanding the offside penalty on bama defense when there were three offensive auburn players in motion pre snap. Looked like Saban told the officials they got it wrong. I would agree with him as it doesn’t seem like a legal snap but I don’t know all the ins and outs if defenders in the neutral zone.
It was a missed call. They should've thrown the flags on that.
