Could be wrong but I think it's been discussed before that this portal window more coincides with student semester schedule.
Some how this makes all the sense in the world
Apparently he was an all-American LX player in high school.
That's awesome - LAX is the only sport I enjoy outside of football.
He would look good in Crimson and White. Maybe CNS can rehabilitate him.

Painting with a broad brush is dangerous, but I will. Alabama was in for most of the dynamic players on that 8&4 squad, and they ultimately went there, and it wasn’t because of the coaching.
They can keep those guys.

Transfer Portal is abour to get completely out of control(it really already is). Mercy. Needs to be SOME sort of regulation to it, or else it's gonna create some major clusterbumbles. Just the list of folks from OSU in the portal alone is insane-- though after hearing about some of the stuff Buckeye fans did to McCord(much as some Bama fans did to Milroe)-- I get that one. But the rest, jeeze that's a lot of talent.
On the portal website that CoolBreeze provided, I see that Thaiu Jones-Bell is listed.
If true, I assume he and Buchner stay home when the team travels to Pasadena. Hope so anyway. Players that quit on their teammates don't need to be hanging around providing attitude issues.

Given we now live in a portal world, I'm OK with taking players after the season is over. But IMO it's a hard pass on players who quit on their teammates before a bowl game... I don't care how good they're supposed to be. I'd view them as potential locker room poison.

Alabama reserve quarterback Tyler Buchner is entering the transfer portal as a lacrosse player.
As it relates to Jones-Bell, the kid was a medical redshirt this past season. He’s been banged up much of his career and took this season (at the suggestion of Coach Saban) to get healthy. He would have a lot to overcome to see the field in a normal situation, much less an injured plague start to a college career.
I’m cutting the young man some slack.
McCord and his father wanted assurances that he would be the starter next year and that Day would not be bringing in someone from the portal. Day was honest with him, told him that they were looking at the portal for another QB, and would not guarantee him the job. So he left. Shrug.
FWIW, we also have a few players squeezing the collective for more money.
