Game Thread: Early bowl games no one cares about but will watch anyway catchall

Just saw something i thought I would never see. A Oklahoma receiver takes the ball out of the Refs hands and throw the ball to the Center to go faster. Look I don't mean to get dramatic but that would be a unsportsman like penalty had I been the ref. You don't put your hands on or snatch anything out the refs hands. It's not up to the player to decide how quick the ball gets up to the line.

Yeah but it’s a dry heat…

For the record (since that came up), the temperature at kickoff time was 75 degrees with 71 percent humidity. It cooled to 68 degrees with 90% humidity by game's end.

It was 85 degrees at kickoff of their game against Washington with 17% humidity.

Yeah, totally convinced the humidity killed Arizona that night.....

Kind of crazy that it looked like the player made a special effort to touch the pylon, which made him just short of a TD due to being considered out of bounds. Had he not touched the pylon, he would have broken the plane.
The runner only gets the goal line extended if he gets something in the end zone. That includes the pylon. The announcer as usual was completely wrong in explaining the rule. Replay must have had a good view the ball was still short of the goal line when he touched the pylon. If he hadn't touched the pylon the ball would have had to have been over or inside the pylon to be a touchdown.

Good to see you back Indy! I know you take a beating at times but have always respected your insight to the rules and officiating.

To clarify, this is not a touchdown if the ball carrier is airborne and has not touched anything considered out of bounds?

And this means essentially that "the plane" does not extend outside the pylon out of bounds?

If the ball carrier's knee touches when stretching out the ball this way, where is the spot?

When Mrs. Tidewater asked about the outcome of the Oklahoma-Arizona game. I told her "turnovers kill."
The Sooners were in control of the game until they decided to become a turnover machine.

Coach Karen is losing her mind on the Clemson sideline. Guess he is mad because his QB got sacked and the refs didn’t think that was illegal. Didn’t count 3 Mississippi?
