Nick Saban Retiring? It's Official .. the Goat is gone

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

I'm taking a wait and see approach,..............to paraphrase a line from The Hunt for Red October, "Saban doesn't take a dump without a plan"...............and I bet part of that was talking to the recruits
Dude, Nick is the program. Without him we are back to the middle of the pack, or lower. Been fun but we are done for a while.

I know he is, but we shall see...............I aint willing to throw the towel in. Give the new guy time and see what he can do. This day comes for every successful team. One day it will be UGA's turn

Well man, I am salty about it. I have been around long enough to know what this means. Been a fun ride though.

I’m in shock. I thought he’d coach a few more years. Even in interviews last week he said he couldn’t see himself retiring anytime soon.

I hope there are no health issues with him or Miss Terry and that they can truly enjoy his retirement.

Bama and fans have been blessed these past 17 years. I’m thankful, grateful, but sad right now. I feel even more disappointed for him that the team couldn’t beat Michigan. I know we would have beaten Washington and Saban could have retired with another championship.
We love you Coach Saban!

Nick Saban went to LSU, which was a mediocre program, built it to a national champion, and left the program on the verge of their next national championship. And not even Les Miles and Ed Orgeron could screw that up. They win another in 2019. Now they are perennial competitors and always give Bama a run for their money.

Bama will be fine and will be much better than they were when Coach Saban found us.

You are right. I know. But we are now on the steady decline course. Our next hire will tell us how fast that decline will actually be.

We might not have as much of a drop off as all the Chicken Littles think. With all the transfer portal and NIL chaos going on, with the maybe exception of UGA, every team is going to be in a good bit of flux every single year. Think positive.
