Who is Saban's replacement?

Only Alabama fans. Coach finishes second in the playoffs and he's not good enough for them. They want the guy who didn't make the playoffs, the guy who lost twice to the second place coach, and some clown who cried because his team didn't make the playoffs.

For the record, I wanted Lanning. I felt like he was young enough, felt like he was close enough to the Saban tree to keep things going, and he would be familiar with landscape.

There's a bumper crop of local talent next year in Alabama. If Deboer can come in, reestablish the physicality, hang on to a few assistants, have a good run into the playoffs, he will be fine in recruiting.

We are looking for a football coach. Do we want the guy who acted like a brat at UT and then deserted them for his dream job at USC after one year? Maybe we want the guy who was so effective at his dream job that he was canned and left on the tarmac. No? Maybe we want the guy who thanked Coach Saban for giving him a chance to improve his image at Alabama by being so unprofessional and unprepared that he was excused from his duties between the semi-final and final. By the way, that last one likely cost us a championship. That guy? Really? Those are my reasons without even mentioning the "other" stuff. Of course, I'm not in charge of hiring Saban's replacement, so maybe you will still get your wish.

isn’t he basically a younger version of Steve Spurrier? On the field, at least.

The landscape of college football is much different than it was just a few years ago. We no longer have a PAC 12, and now teams like Oregon and UW are in the Big 10 competing against the blue bloods that is Michigan and Ohio St and I can tell you Wisconsin is going to be right there when Fickell gets rooted in.

So, apparently Dan Lanning thinks he's in a place that can bring in enough fire power to compete in that super conference. Does DeBoer think the same thing about UW? Alabama does have the fire power and has the resources and the brand to guarantee that he can compete.
Or, he thinks the path is easier with the resources he has compared to the path and resources at Alabama. There's no Georgia and Texas teams in the Big whatever they are.

Kiffin is trolling this in overdrive. He just RE-tweeted Isaiah Bond's announcement. I surely may be wrong, but it makes it appear that he's not been called and not even on a short list.

No, and he wouldn't be considered due to past transgressions.............but if he could keep his proclivitiesn under wraps he might have gotten one

I'm telling you, if we get enough swing and misses, Byrne will be in a janitor's closet with the lights out making a call to Kiffin personally asking him "Which night clubs do you want your fake name setup?", then hanging up and going to take a shower.
I could see them calling him................and I think he'd hesistate for a moment to make himself look good, then say "I'm on the way"
