WelI, I'm retired but I play a lot of Strat-o-Matic baseball and I haven't played any in 3 days.
Brought to you by the same place that passed up Bowden twice. His age was a concern right? We'll see, but it's like passing up your high school sweetheart for a hot chick at the gas station that waved at you once.
Objectively, I wish that the timing of all this better aligned with having a more clear heir apparent in the mix. Any number of other seasons would have allowed for that, but with Rees only having been on staff for one year and Steele retiring himself, it leaves no such transition on the table. Could Rees evolve into a great HC? Sure. But do we really want to roll the dice on someone with such a short connection to the program AND without a really robust record of success elsewhere in a comparable role? I don't know.
All that said, a person needs to be able to retire when they want to retire and who knows how long it would even take to identify another heir apparent anyway.

If its Debour, as it seems......I hope he hires a really good DC. Maybe he hires TRob.

I hope he hires really good recruiters, because in four years recruiting at Fresno State and Washington he had 16 four stars and 0 five stars and not a single good class.

Well, honestly, I'd take Debour over Dabo any day. We'll have to see how Debour hires his staff now. Surely he hires some guys from the south that have relationships already with HS coaches.
