Not concerned at all.Vlahos was considered undersized at around 290(ish). This guy is 275, so 15 pounds smaller.
I really don't think it's that serious, but interesting analogy. I think we are going to be OK with the players that want to be here and the new ones that will be coming in.By my count this morning after our own Pearl Harbor we are only 7 players short of the 85 before we dip into the portal ourselves.
I believe a lot of inexperienced players are going to have to play this year. They will make mistakes, but this staff may be able to better prep them to play. Nick Saban's systems took a long time to learn. Possibly too long in the era of NIL and free agency.
I believe this offense and defense is going to be such that players are going to WANT to play in them. Once the product is out there for everyone to see I believe the staff will be able to lean heavily into recruiting in 2024. Because the roster is depleted. We should get good results. Remember guys want to play so top talent will give us a look because they see opportunity now. UGA and Texas are now the schools "where a five star sits the bench". We can now play that game.
The Japanese got the big win on December 7th 1941. But the main targets, the air craft carriers were not in port that morning. Perl Harbor was bad, people died. but the ships they sank that morning would not play a significant roll in the coming war and the anger that resulted became a rallying cry to bring a nation together.
For the players that remain. They will be the foundation of something new. As fans we need to be patient. Understand that "the process" is still going. Nick Saban is still in the building. No coach in America has a mentor like that to go to for advice. Hopefully in addition to being an invaluable resource for the Crimson Tide Saban can start a movement to bring "balance" back to college football.
This is not the end, it is the beginning.
Some of them Samoan guys are mean hombresYou just described their whole line
I'll take him.........
Laugh as you may, but I still recognize the 6th win and bowl eligibility. I am not old enough to remember Coach Bryant. Outside of Stallings and Saban, my experience as a fan has been rough. For all you younger whipper snappers, there was a time when a 10 win season was considered excellent. A major bowl win was a cherry on top of the sundae!

UM had a lot of experienced, talented players. Harbaugh is going to run off so he doesn't look bad when they fall back next year.Yeah, he was handled a bit by Michigan. But everyone was.
Ole Siss has already snatched one of their playersUM had a lot of experienced, talented players. Harbaugh is going to run off so he doesn't look bad when they fall back next year.
Some of them Samoan guys are mean hombres
I was born in 65 and remember a lot of the Bryant years, when even he had some mediocre seasons. Then watched the Perkins through Shula years when a mediocre season was pretty good with a bright spot being Stallings 3rd season. For all you younger whipper snappers, there was a time when a 10 win season was considered excellent. A major bowl win was a cherry on top of the sundae!
They get amped up doing their HakaTheir culture still teaches the males to have a "warrior " mentality. It is very impressive...
