DeBoer gets his first transfer ... and it's a QB. Austin Mack

Not sure of the truth, but all I know is that people I trust believe Sayin was pushed out.

Ultimately it doesn’t matter.

I trust Coach. He’s got a plan.
I trusted Saban because he earned it in spades. He wasn’t perfect but his track record spoke for itself. He’s the greatest. CKD hasn’t earned it for me. I’m glad he’s here and want to believe but he’s gonna have to show me.

If that is true, it just sounds monumentally stupid and it better pay off for him. Like what was the plan, deliberately run off all the 5 star talent and the #1 QB in the National incoming class to prove a point? He just somehow wasn’t the “right fit”, because reasons?

Maybe somebody smarter than me can answer this - On3 has player’s NIL values listed on their site. Sayin’s is at $814K, and is BY FAR the highest on our list in the 2024 class. Is this accurate? If so, is this possibly a case of freeing up “cap space”, if you will?

It’s notable that Caleb Downs’ is listed at $903K and Proctor’s at $653K.

doubt seriously that's true. I mean, I know someone who knows someone they trust...etc. Too much of that going around since Saban announced retirement. Just sounds too fishy. Not buying it. However, if there was disagreement over something, say like NIL, then maybe Sayin may have backed out. But doubt CKD pushed him out intentionally for nothing.

Proctor going to tOSU, too?

I would recommend watching Mack’s HS stuff.

I felt better after I did because he looks pretty good.

He does have a bit of a baby giraffe thing going with off balance throws but even still there are a lot of impressive throws he’s making.

I think the QB1 battle will now be between Ty and Mack and no matter which wins we’ll be in good shape at QB.

Mack wants to be here and I’m glad about it.

We are taking a beating in the Portal but once it opens up for us in the Spring we will find a lot of guys to bring in and fill these other spots.

We aren’t the only school with 4 and 5 star recruits that for whatever reason want a change of scenery.

I mean hey we might even get 3-4 portal additions from Highly rated Wash players this weekend.
So, it would appear that you believe Milroe will be relegated to backup duty. Not saying I disagree with you, but any basis for your prediction?

Hurts does not have a Super Bowl ring.
I am sorry on that one no Hurts does not have a Super Bowl ring, however my point is you don’t know how an athlete is going to do until they have the game in their hands.

Bryce lived up to the hype but we didn’t win any national titles with him, he did win a Heisman, Mac was our last NT QB and I am too lazy to look up his star rating.

But it is like we have great expectations for Sayin and he may live up to the hype , but he hasn’t even took a snap in a college game, obviously the young man coming in has much better HS stats but someone does make him a five star so everyone is deflated and are ready to hang up the season, run down the coach, and burn their bama gear.

I wish 247 would stop giving them band width. Let them quit for their greener pastures we will see how that works out…to date not many have made it big since leaving Bama.
This not holding kids to their commitments is a result of everyone gets a trophy attitude that they are raised in, heaven help us if things really get tough in America this generation will go to another country before they fight for their own.

I've seen an entire season of him not being able to read Defenses and/or make quick decisions to throw or run.

If something isn't there right off the bat the play is toast as drawn up like 85-90% of the time.

CKD and Grubb's Offense is very complicated with a lot of little things going on that have to be processed really quickly before the snap and after the snap.

It seems like they are both really high on Mack which is why they brought him in to compete.

He's already been in the system for 1 Year and probably has a leg up system wise.

Ty is kind of a wild card. IF he can pick the new system up quickly he imo has as much talent or more than any of the other QB's and could beat out Mack.

I think Lonergan also has a chance to make the 2-deep.

I've honestly just not seen much from Jalen that indicates he can run a Precision timing Air-Raid Mesh concept Run-n-Shoot Passing Attack with Multiple Complex Option WR Route Trees that change on the fly based on Defense Coverage and Sight Adjustments.

He wasn't asked to run and offense even remotely as complicated this past year and still couldn't do it consistently like it was drawn up.

If I'm wrong I'll own it like usual but I just really can't this not coming down to Mack vs Ty or maybe Dylan.

If it is true, and we will probably never know, then DeBoer has given himself zero wiggle room for failure. If he cannot win with this QB room and he chased off a potentially generational talent, he would not deserve much grace.

Yep. I’m sensing it’s Mack/Lonergan at the end. And that’s a risk for the hold over captains like Booker, Lawson, Moore, Campbell etc - because I believe that would test their loyalty.

we are in a high risk high reward situation

I still have a hard time believing it.................especially when there are other blurbs about the Sayins not approving of Grubb as the OC. Lots of agendas and false news out there to wade through, but I dont see this coach being that misguided, especially when he said he was going to lean on Saban as an advisor. I think the kid didnt like the new coaching staff, especially the OC and decided to test the waters after other schools let it be known he could make more money elsewhere..............

You don’t have to believe anything. Easter Bunny. Santa Claus. UFOs. Live your life man.

The kid and his family have told countless people that he wanted to stay. What makes more sense to you?

He is lying?

Or maybe the new coach didn’t think he was a fit for his system? After bringing in a kid he wanted who runs his system already?

If they are truly all in with Bama as they say they are, they will run with it................personally, I see it being Ty, Lonergan and Mack.............I think Jalen is the odd man out due to his trouble with certain aspects of the QB role

I'm sure you can................but there is the thing about not approving of Grubb as OC. It's quite possible that Sayin didn't like the system he was going to put in place and decided to look elsewhere to up his value. They might be saying all of this to justify their decision to take the money and run.....money talks and maybe Bama didn't pony up what he felt he deserved.............and we will never know. There is their side, Bama's side and the truth

In any case, we have 4 QBs that will all get the chance to show what they have..........

I am seriously wondering what they could have seen (on tape or in a one on one meeting) to basically ask the kid to leave? If it were something on tape then I expect Milroe to be asked to leave next week...like Monday morning when the offices open.

I’m guessing he was recruited at Washington, so they may have already had familiarity with him.

Washington didn’t even offer him. So there is that.

Well, unless he or DeBoer explains the reasons, we'll never know for sure. We can speculate based on a statement all day long and still not get it right.
