2024 Recruiting: 2025 5* WR Ryan Williams commits

DeBoer, lots of yards for WR's.

Freeze with no QB.....lack of yards for WR's.

That's really the question a kid needs to ask himself...do you want to be the king of the state and rack up huge yards.....or go have lots of nothing thrown your way at the Barn.

That’s one of the two things that I almost dismiss Auburn as a possibility. Auburn really doesn’t have a great quarterback on standby.

Unless things have changed or Freeze really has unloaded the type of money Texas is I really don’t see Auburn getting him.

I still think it’s Alabama vs Texas, and everybody else should just be happy to get him on campus.

You think it's still Alabama vs Texas after he cancelled his visit to UT?

Yes, but unlikely.

But I take it more of a sign that he is going to Bama than is seriously considering Auburn. Has Freeze went after him hard? Yes, but from all accounts it’s been mostly ineffective. There are alot of things that seriously go against Auburn in this case that Auburn can’t rid themselves of no matter who they bring in.

My point is that I think he is using the Auburn visit to have a few more weeks of everyone talking about his decision.

For some reason, I`m not reading too much into the cancelled Texas visit. You don`t need to go there to look at all that money. And preachaman gets last crack. Wish we did. I expect both UTw and the barn will throw truly generational money at him. He be the richest man in Saraland!!

Looking at the Texas and Auburn WR rooms, he has much more chance to shine in Tuscaloosa.

Sark is starting to stockpile too much specialist talent. It’s not possible to satisfy even 1/3 of them. Jimbo fell in love with star ratings and overloaded position groups. Sark seems to be doing the same.

After he did his most recent interview after visiting Bama and hinted he might already know I mentioned it would seem to suggest Bama but it would help if he canceled his Texas and Barn visits.

I consider this excellent news. Is it possible he might do the same with Auburn?

When this kid commits, the I told you so's from whichever side was correct will be deafening.
Don't understand why people take a side to only come back and say "I told you so" when the possibilities are 33/33/33 OR as it seems now 50/50.

I mean, I like the way it's looking for the good guys, but if anybody "takes a side" and gets it right, they are just guessing.

This is obviously great news. Based on his recent visit, what Jaylen Mbakwe said and what Poke is reporting he will be back in Ttown this weekend I am feeling very optimistic. Looks like DeBoer and WR coach appears to have made an impression and his close relationship with some commits and players may sway him in our direction.

those factors didn't stop Coleman and Thompson from committing. both were " committed" to other schools prior to them flipping to the barn.
we know why they came, but they still came regardless.

I share SJC's wait and see attitude. I think the guy will be great wherever he goes, but the longstanding smoke around him flipping to Auburn late makes me wonder.

I'm wondering how much RW's personality causes you to feel unsure about him?

He seems to always have a smile/grin no matter what he's talking about. Compared to Julio Jones, Jones was as serious as they come, but if I recall he held out to the last moment between Bama and OK.

FWIW, I know he's flirted with Auburn so I get the concern.

I suspect that he won’t spend three years at whatever school he signs with. Just too much cash and light being thrown at a still 16year old. If he is able to keep his head straight, he’ll be a special person.
I don’t think his stock can be any higher than it is now. With that said, I believe he will stay at Bama for 3 years if he signs with Bama. IMO

Look -
I see it like this. First of all, Mbakwe saying what he said ain’t just “some player talking”. He and RW are tight and have been - I think a lot longer than a few months.
Texas has more money than God - so it ain’t about money.
Sark’s offenses have at least equaled if not surpassed Sleaze’s. He has two five-stars to chunk it. Sleaze has….?
I wish somebody would tell me how many times RW has been to Ttown. And looks like one more coming up.
If he flips to the Barn, it would be a colossal “play”. I’ve never gotten the sense from anyone around here indicating he’s that type, but I don’t know him. Mbakwe does. Would RW “play” him too? Surely he (JM) wouldn’t be in on it.
No one knows but RW. He’s going to go where he feels most comfortable.

His dad played at Auburn. That's in the back of my mind. Different era though. But he sure has spent a lot of time in Tuscaloosa.
