Decline of the GOP episode XIII

Charlie Kirk: “If you vote Democrat as a Christian, I think you can no longer call yourself a Christian. You have to call yourself something else. I do not think you can be a Christian and vote Democrat.”
But voting for someone who spews hate, belittles and denigrates women, people of color, the poor and disabled, has committed adultery to the point of being convicted of sexual assault, is blatantly guilty of the most serious of sins (pride), is totally doing what Jesus Christ himself told us to do.
Charlie Kirk is probably not clueless, just a profligate liar; his defenders, without a leg to stand on, will likely say it’s just a different interpretation of the teachings of Christ - “alternate truths”, if you will.

I wonder if MJ made the deal with the Dems, since they control his fate when MTG stirs the pot with the motion to vacate. As long as he keeps this up, I don’t see him going anywhere, at least not before the elections. I will say I’m surprised (pleasantly so) that the House is finally doing something, but my fear is that it’s short-lived.

I might live in the dumbest state in the Union. SMH
I wonder, if you looked at the states most people widely consider “dumb” vs the ones widely considered “smart”, if you could find one thing most states in each group had in common…🤔

Sure any state following along and implementing the ridiculous rules and policies of California. That immediately means you’re dumb. That was an easy question.

Supreme Court Takes Firm Stance on January 6 Insurrection by Banning Ex-New Mexico Official
The Supreme Court rejected a case that seemed to establish a double standard for Donald Trump and other citizens. On Monday, the conservative-majority court upheld a ban on former New Mexico official Couy Griffin from running for office in the state again due to his criminal history. Griffin was convicted in 2022 for his involvement in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, leading to his removal as county commissioner.
The Supreme Court’s initial ruling on the Fourteenth Amendment comes after invalidating a Colorado decision that prevented Trump from participating in the state’s GOP presidential primary. This marks the first instance of the “insurrectionist clause” being invoked to disqualify an individual from holding office since its inception to prevent former Confederates from regaining prominent positions after the Civil War. By permitting the application of the Fourteenth Amendment in the case of Griffin, the Supreme Court indirectly implies that the events of January 6th constitute an insurrection.

that has to be one of the most god-awful songs ever written
It's all right, but I do like versions sung by someone other than Greenwood. His voice is rough and irritating to me. Neil Boyd sung this on his first album and it was grand. It's a great album and his version of the Nessun Dorma is breathtaking.

First time I have ever seen the KJV called easy to read.
Actually, the modern KJV has been astoundingly dumbed down from how it was originally published in 1611. I actually have a copy as it would have looked back then (complete with prayer schedule and the Deuterocanonical books found now only in Catholic and Orthodox Bibles.) It is astonishingly difficult to read as the English-speaking world at the time was only 100 years removed from Middle English.
