If we didn’t have a couple of TD’s called back and drive ending holding penalties our blood pressure would have been better last night while viewing.I think if USF had a more accurate QB, we would be having a very different conversation this morning.
I believe DeBoer stated he was ”dinged up” and wanted to hold him to out and play him only if necessary. So was Pritchett injured or not?
I’m so glad I wasn’t able to watch it live. I actually might have died.
Not to worry there are more accurate ones out there on Bama's schedule this year! Last night only encouraged opposing coaching staffs.I think if USF had a more accurate QB, we would be having a very different conversation this morning.
This is the question, isn't it?Where is all of the imaginative playcalling that DeBoer is so famous for? Why aren’t we getting the ball to Law? Why are two coaching staffs still trying to force a square peg into a round hole? If Milroe refuses to throw the ball short and take what the defense is giving him, then he shouldn’t be playing.
16.5 is WAY too high. Before the USF game, I was thinking it would be around 7.The early line for the Alabama vs. Wisconsin matchup has been released. FanDuel has the Crimson Tide as a 16.5-point favorite over the Badgers. The over-under for the matchup has been set at 55.5.
On most cases, I didn't see any time for "make them pay". I doubt any other quarterback would have done better with those blitzes. There was simply not time. The OL definitely struggled tonight, but Milroe is still Milroe. There’s a lot of good in that statement, but I think we’ve hit his ceiling. More competent QBs would have made USF pay for their relentless blitzing. Maybe it’s time to rip the band-aid off the QB position.
“ALWAA” isn’t bad actuallyAll I'll say is "At least we aren't Auburn."
Nothing that bad. USF played their butts off and refused to be intimidated. They played us EXACTLY like the Barn does when the game is in their cesspool stadium. Was anyone else here sort of reminiscing about Mike Sula days at Bama and the sort of feel that watching a team with some great individual talent that can't quite put it all together. Just asking?
We all know the routes are there the ball just isn't getting thrown to them. It's the same thing as last season and why Bond is in Austin playing for a different team and if it doesn't get fixed this season more will transfer after this season.Where is all of the imaginative playcalling that DeBoer is so famous for? Why aren’t we getting the ball to Law? Why are two coaching staffs still trying to force a square peg into a round hole? If Milroe refuses to throw the ball short and take what the defense is giving him, then he shouldn’t be playing.
I’m genuinely shocked the line is 16.5. They are going to blitz up straight up the middle and Milroe will just stand there. We will probably still win, but it won’t be pretty. UGA is a whole other discussion. Unless something changes in a big way, they will run us out of the stadium the way Texas did in the 4th quarter last year.Gee, I wonder how Wisconsins D is going to prepare for Milroe and Bama.
Granted, if we can get Proctor back at LT and Pritchett at RT we should be able to run more consistently with Jam and Justice.....but if they blitz or bring a free rusher on pass plays....Milroe has no idea what to do.
Milroe never sees any of it. He won't suddenly start dumping the ball to a receiver on a slant over the blitz. He just won't. Meaning the D will continue to bring the same pressure, over and over.
If we can't make them pay for bringing the extra rushers by hitting the short pass over them....they will never stop.
What else did we see last night....open receivers that Milroe did hit were desperately trying to make sure they caught the ball. They weren't catching and running frequently at all. Why is that? Most of his throws are late and off target by enough it slows the WR down. Why is that? His mechanics and his processing are bad....they have not improved one bit.
Beck would have made them pay for those blitzes and they would have backed off. That's what a capable QB does....sees that extra guy before the snap and hit the short route over top of it.On most cases, I didn't see any time for "make them pay". I doubt any other quarterback would have done better with those blitzes. There was simply not time.
It would be grossly unfair to insert another QB into the situation last night. You are correct it would have been impossible for Ty to come in and change the momentum. On most cases, I didn't see any time for "make them pay". I doubt any other quarterback would have done better with those blitzes. There was simply not time.
I don’t think that’s true at all. There are posters on this board who not only think Milroe isn’t the problem, but that he “played great” last night. We all know the routes are there the ball just isn't getting thrown to them. It's the same thing as last season and why Bond is in Austin playing for a different team and if it doesn't get fixed this season more will transfer after this season.
