Jalen Milroe appreciation thread

No, but I was one of the naysayers as well. And I will acknowledge that JM is improving and it is obvious he has taken the coaching to heart and improved his game. If he can play within himself like he did against UGA we will be very hard to beat.

he was already pretty hard to beat last year, and he has progressed quite a bit

This is a great point because the receivers are also developing along with JM. The whole offense is still learning the DeBoer system. The receivers are learning to run to a particular spot on the field. JM is also learning to throw the ball to a particular spot on the field - throw the receiver open, as they say. Everyone benefits as this philosophy develops and JM and the receivers learn to trust each other.

The reads and intermediate throws JM was making were an obvious jump from last year. Something has clicked. If he continues to improve (and everything indicates he will) it will become incredibly hard to stop. It’s awesome to watch.

Jalen is doing things that are only done in video games overall statistically. Like his multiple passing and rushing TDs in each game so far streak, is just ridiculous.

If they truly develop the running backs to be able to carry the offense for a while too. I mean just unstoppable.

The first two seasons he was on campus bill o'brien, in my opinion, gave him little to no coaching at all. I mean that clown was trying to get him to switch positions. Rees was in way over his head and should've never been hired by CNS. It's amazing what a little coaching can accomplish with a tremendously athletic player. RTR

And he is the only QB to pass for 300 yards, rush for 100 yards and run for 2 TD's against a top 5 opponent.

We didn't see those intermediate throws much at all in the first 3 games. Word was, Milroe couldn't make those. Kirby and co. bought it. They were not prepared for those.

Lights out impressed with his progress and I hope it continues! I’ve been despairing of the fact I was afraid he would never turn the corner on some of the deficiencies he had the last few years.

Barbecued crow tasks excellent btw!

I wonder how much is due to DeBoer given the not so great coordinators he played for the last two years. I think a huge amount of the progress wouldn’t have occurred without CKD.

Definitely. He has progressed more in 4 games than he did in 3 years prior to CKD's arrival.

Though it has not been a strong point, he’s been “throwing guys open” all along. He’s also improving in that regard.
