Paul Volker began to attack inflation in 1980 and eventually got it in control along with starting a long recession. I mean a real difficult jobs and spending recession. Before that Nixon attempted to to use wage and price controls in the early 70's to slow booming inflation from the Vietnam war. That never worked.

Biden should have known better and made efforts to understand the impact on consumers and at least attempt to use his leverage to contain it.

Trump isn't near that intelligent about it. He will see latent inflation explode with his tariffs. A recession follows as night follows day and he will be blamed. He wanted the job and doesn't understand that part of it at all.

Not saying that Kamala would have done better but she would certainly have consulted others.

One thing I'll say about working for the government, there are going to be days when I spend entirely too much time waiting on some yo-yo in Montgomery to fax me critical information I need before I can continue my day. At moments like this, thank God for Tidefans.

Please note, Trump promised us that Mexico would pay for the wall. And that he told the GOP to kill the bipartisan bill that had much of what the GOP wanted.

lately have had a lot of downtime. I am way ahead on one project and running out of stuff to do for it.

He found a way to call people names, denigrate entire countries, smear hundreds of people's names, use misogynistic language, and STILL get people who voted Democrat in the last election to vote for him. It seems to me that someone in the Democrat/liberal party needs to figure out how he did that. Because he won the election by getting people who normally would have voted Democrat to vote Republican. So the question is, how? That question has already been answered several times in this thread by people in your party.

And it sucks, so thin you can see through it. My wife bought it one week trying to save money. It's an insult that a company would produce a product so bad, like tossing breadcrumbs to us common folk.

Obviously it’s because those people are morons, there’s nothing wrong with Mother Democratic Party.

If you’re a democrat it doesn’t matter what Trump did, does, or will do. What matters is that in spite of all that when given the chance to vote for Kamala they chose Trump.

Says more about the Democratic Party than Trump.

Carter lost for doing the right thing by killing inflation, even though it killed his political career. You don't survive 16% interest rates. Nixon did the right thing by taking us off the gold standard completely in '68 and letting the currency float. However, he couldn't take the inflation it brought and instituted socialist government-mandated wage and price controls. Can you imagine anyone, much less a democrat, trying to do that now?

The Gold Bugs and the BitCoiners want to crash the economy and bring on deflation so their billions will be worth even more. They'll do it.

That's the biggest issue. What in the hell did they do or didn't do to cause people who voted for them to beat Trump to now vote for Trump to beat Harris? That is the biggest question they need to answer and find the answers to.

IMO, they aren't in touch with the majority of the average American citizen and I'm not talking about those who will always vote Republican. I mean those who are within their own party, like the ones who voted Trump OUT in the last election.

Pete is as sharp as they come, but America won't elect a gay man. I would vote for him gladly but I'd be in the distinct minority.

One interesting point is that Tump is a talented manipulator. He went to Black men and said those immigrants are taking your jobs. You are a part of my team and I am here to protect you. He did the same with legal Hispanics and sure enough he won them over much in the same way he has held the MAGA crowd for years now. He actually doesn't care about them at all. That would lead me to believe that all of the major dictators of history innately understood this methodology.
