Doesn't his contract have points for ticket sales? I think so. He's worth whatever they pay him & more.

I saw his full comments and wasn't offended. In fact, he was hugely complimentary and deferntial of CNS. Even with the CNS misspeak earlier in the year, after his initial "we gonna talk" comments, he has said stuff like this, so I have no problem with him verbalizing his confidence.

He's not going to get the players he wants by poor mouthing himself or them.
I don’t think not calling himself the best coach in college football is pour-mouthing.

I’m 100% fine with confidence. When it tips into arrogance and artificial drama, it starts to wear on me.

He’s not going to be able to coach the rest of his career finding some reason to be mad at the next team coming in by artificially concocting drama.

I always enjoyed him as a player. I could probably enjoy him as a coach as well. But so far, it’s rubbed me wrong.

Anyone else see Deion as just another Cadillac, albeit a much more recognized name. Great motivator, kids want to play hard for them. But neither one has enough seasoning in the coaching profession to make it work consistently on the biggest of stages.
Now can Deion get there? Maybe. It's too early to know. Unless you need clicks on your website or twitter/instagram feed.

I don’t know about that. Does Dion have one big crayon Ike Cadillac or the jumbo pack of 64?

If any other coach run off 90% of the team and basically started over via the portal they would have been utterly vilified. There would be lawsuits, NCAA actions, political group actions, calls for congressional actions. Yet Coach Sanders is praised for it.
The term "turning the team around " is a misnomer imo. It should be "started a new team". Not coach Sanders fault, but It just kinda rubs me the wrong way.

But the Jeanie is now all the way out of the bottle. CNS should use it to it's full advantage. If you think you need 10-15 players to have a winning team, go get em. If players want to transfer because they're not playing or you yelled at them, get rid of them. Bring more in. The era of developing players for 2-3 years is over. Yeah there will be a few, but that era is over.

Anyway that said, the majority of the players he did bring in are not 4-5 star kids. They have had very little time to practice together. He has them playing at a high level. They are motivated. They believe. Isn't that what a good coach does?

It has only been three games and the hype is definitely over the top, but you can't argue he has done a great job so far. What happens when they lose a few games, get blown out, lose your star QB etc etc. remains to be seen.

It's interesting to watch.

We all remember tim tebo and his displays and statements of his Christianity. Coach Prime is basically doing the same thing and not a peep from anyone, and not getting cut off. Any coach that gets a chance to run up the score will do so and it's going to be fun to watch.

I'm not in any way suggesting Deion is correct in his assertion that he is the best, but if you're waiting for Deion to fail because his mouth wrote checks he couldn't cash, well, I've been waiting for that for 30+ years...
Not really waiting for that, but this season he will play two teams that will likely beat them.................then the luster with the press will shine a little less.............watch and see....

I found Sanders' brashness grating when he was at FSU but rooted for him with the Braves. There's no denying he was the best 2-sport star athlete not named Bo Jackson. I respected his starting his coaching career at an HBCU, and he's definitely revived a program that was moribund (helps that the Broncos stink at the moment). The A-list celebs will move on once they lose a few games. Some of his antics are annoying but by now we know it's all for show and there may even be a little substance behind the hype. Time will tell.

The article doesn't bother me - he and Saban speak highly of each other, so that's good enough for me.

I just watched the first episode in the Amazon Prime documentary about Coach Prime. It's pretty good and shows how well he relates to the players. It also shows that he's a good coach. Like him or not, he is a good coach and he knows how to relate to the kids on his team.

If I wanted to get worked up over something, I think Bama this year offers plenty of opportunity. A coach at a historically middling school in a middling conference? Not so much.

I could have started a new thread, but I thought it would go better here.

Buffaloes will retire Shedeur Sanders’ No. 2 and Travis Hunter's No. 12 - CBS Colorado

(Diff link below, above is "video")
The University of Colorado announced Monday that it is retiring the jersey numbers of Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter.

Sanders’ No. 2 and Hunter’s No. 12 will become “officially untouchable” during the Spring Game at Folsom Field on Saturday.

They will join four other Colorado players who have their numbers retired — Rashaan Salaam’s No. 19, Byron White’s No. 24, Joe Romig’s No. 67 and Bobby Anderson’s No. 11.

Hunter, who played cornerback and wide receiver, won the Heisman Trophy in 2024.

Okay - Hunter I can understand. I'd say it's too soon, but okay. But......"let's retire the number of a 13-11 quarterback who rushed for MINUS 127 yards, and whose stats are largely due to the OTHER guy whose number we're retiring....simply because his Daddy wore the same number and it'll be cool"....is one of the DUMBEST things I've ever seen.

Colorado did not retire the number of Darian Hagan, who led them (mostly) to their only national championship in school history. And if you want to say, "Well, he got hurt in the big game," okay, they didn't retire Charles Johnson's number, either, and you'd think he'd be famous between scoring on Fifth Down and winning a national title.

They didn't retire Kordell Stewart's number, either, and he was a MUCH better quarterback in his era than Sanders was. Stewart was 19-4-1 as the undisputed starter with finishes of 16 and 3, and led them to two bowl wins...which is two more than Sanders got despite bowl game appearances being IMMENSELY easier than they were thirty years ago.

Alfred Williams is in the College Football HOF and won an national title, they haven't retired his.
Eric Bienemy was the most indispensable player on their national title team and has accomplished quite a bit as a coordinator, but they haven't retired his, either.

I mean, this is world class "you've GOT to be kidding me"......

so will his son be inducted into the hall of fame before he even plays a down in the NFL? Might as well.

Colorado's new starting QB.....from what I've read will be Kaidon Salter from Liberty.....should change his name to Kaidon Sanders so he can get his number retired next year.

I'm not bothering with blue font either....the whole thing out there is absurd.

I started to put a reference to Kim Jong Un shooting an amazing 18 on 18 holes on his first-ever golf round but decided against it.
Impressive no doubt but fair's in comparison to the round of 15 he shot during a Hurricane at Augusta National in '19.
