BREAKING Milroe declares for draft

Was reading a projected draft order article in NFL.com. They got to MEroe and the comments from an AFC Exec were pretty much spot on. I won’t link it due to the language, but the last line from a AFC Coordinator speaks volumes “We heard out of Alabama all the skill [players] would've transferred if he came back. He wants to be known as a pocket quarterback and your best skill is you're …(bad word)… fast."

I saw the same article, I hope he gets the coaching he needs, embraces his strengths to help mitigate his weakness, and becomes the best he can be.

End of story.

Yeah, but you never ask a zebra to be a dog.

I read the article, too. If the NFL coordinator is correct, it looks like the locker room was as divided as the fanbase on Milroe.

If he doesn't start, some players refuse to give full effort, or even to play at all. Then they transfer. Others transfer if he stays on the team next year.

I think this gives some credence to the rumblings that Milroe was told returning to Tuscaloosa for the 2025 season wasn't an option. Maybe DeBoer decided that the team was better off without Milroe's associates than it was without those wanting another QB.

Side note: It's only Wednesday AM, and the spring football portal doesn't close until Friday. But so far, I haven't heard of anyone transferring out.

I think it was, and I also think it showed on the field. When a team isn't "together" in the locker room, it ultimately leaks onto the field. I'm just hoping the team is past all of that and now everyone can get on the same page and move forward.

This is my favorite quote from that article:

" I don't think it'll be at a level where you feel great about him dropping back and throwing the ball. "

Yeah, welcome to our last two years!

I'll try to make my favorite one tidefan friendly:

"This is the fastest guy on the ******* field," an AFC executive said, via NFL.com. "He was outrunning angles. He's just so ****ing erratic. He's a smart enough kid, but not a fast processor. He's into all these ****ing mental coaches. Has to see it open. Doesn't have anticipation. He's the typical big, rifle-armed ****er who throws everything ****ing hard and fast and will throw a good pass and then the next five, you don't know where the **** they're going to end up."

I'm pretty darn sure most, if not all that, has been said on this board (without the **** of course)

I’m still surprised the 2nd Round is an option.

Somebody is going to gamble an early round pick on an out of position 4th-7th round player.

This is exactly what all of us with any objectivity saw all along. I kept hoping it would all click for him. I wish him all the best in the nfl, but if was a GM I wouldn’t draft him before the 5th round as a project. I think that might be a stretch.

I didnt know colbysullivan was an AFC executive...

The problem is that if he tries the crap he did here in a nfl locker room then he might start researching UFL or high school coaching fast. Because when real money and bonuses are involved then grown men aren’t going to take kindly to all the childishness that a college kid wants to start.

Milroe can't process what he needs to process fast enough to be a successful NFL QB. Those late throws are going to get picked at a higher percentage in the NFL.

Those guys will turn on him quickly...as 81 said....you've got contracts in play with yard totals and touches and receptions etc.....you start screwing around with other players money you aren't going to be well received in the locker room.

He isn't suddenly going to have anticipation on his throws. I expect if he makes it on the field it'll look a lot like the 1st quarter vs Michigan with multiple turnovers or the game vs Oklahoma and multiple picks. The game speed will be too much for him.

Whomstever picks him in any round should be fired immediately. Milroe is not a QB.
