A couple of things to note here. I went to website named as compiling a list of ICE agents. Clicking on the "ICE List" on their site returned an error. No doxxing seems to be taking place currently. And yes, the Dept of Homeland Security issued a press release stating assaults of agents were up 500%. But no actual statistics were provided. Clicking on the link for statistics takes you to a Breitbart story saying the same thing, again with no real numbers.

1. I remain opposed to ICE agents wearing masks.
2. I'm not aware of other law enforcement officers routinely masking.
3. Any assault of a LEO is too many.

I don't know where I stand on this, to be honest. I have several friends who are in law enforcement who work in a sector where keeping their identity secure is critical to the safety of their lives and their family's lives. Their jobs are somewhat different from those of ICE agents, but some of what they do is similar.

I'd say this. The first time we get a documented case of an ICE agent (and family) being stalked, harassed, or, lord forbid, killed. Then the masks go back on. Because I agree with your third point, one assault is too many.

It will be difficult for me to ever accept warrantless arrests/abductions in the USA by masked, unidentifiable individuals.

I would as well, but that's not what I was talking about. I was talking about simply wearing masks if their identity started being doxxed. If they began to be doxxed, and the officers and their families started being targeted, would you want something done to protect them?

Absolutely. I'd want those who are making threats (or more) prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. No one should have to worry about the safety of their family.

If circumstances demand masking and anonymity to arrest those suspected of being here illegally, then there has to be a warrant.

Why didn't the U.S. recognize him as a citizen? Was his dad not a citizen but somehow served in the military?
I've been told that the parents get a birth certificate from the base hospital, which they can then submit to the embassy for processing. Don't know where the ball was dropped here.

But as long as the base has a birth certificate, it should not be an issue.

ICE arrest Pasadena mother without warrant—turns out they abducted wrong person.

Only 2 of 3 agents had a badge—none were in uniform.

"I didn’t know if I was witnessing a hate crime or a kidnapping," said witness. Video cuts off just as daughter begs, "Call the police." "And because they might have been law enforcement, I wasn’t even sure whether to call the police."

Jillian Reed did end up calling 911—reporting what she thought was a possible kidnapping. Rosalina Luna Vargas was eventually taken into custody despite her 2 children's best efforts.

After inflicting all of that trauma—ICE later admit they arrested the wrong person by mistake in the first place. Told the family they had just been "in the wrong place at the wrong time."

This is where we are as a country. They invented an enemy that really didn't exist. And demonized the segment. It's all part of the playbook.

It is difficult for people to imagine the impact that we will see on food availability and price with the constant stress on migrant workers by ICE. Farm communities are being hit with the loss of shipments to global markets and the lack of labor at the same time. Many of those who have voted for Trump twice are being hit the hardest!

My guess is, to bring this stuff to an end, people like the one above need to file a lawsuit. It seems like any good lawyer can get a nice-sized settlement out of that.

Nazis did this in 1930s Germany as well, but I'm fearmongoring when I bring this up.

You folks arguing about masks are missing the bigger issue. No uniform, no identifying markings of any kind, no badges. Wearing a mask is the least of the problems here. Like one of the witnesses stated, they didn't know it was an arrest or a hate crime.

I might be able to come to terms with wearing a mask and no name tag, but they should all be in uniforms with a badge on the front and very clearly visible ICE markings on the side and back. There should be no doubt in any witness's mind that they are law enforcement. They should never pull up in unmarked vans, jump out, force someone into that van, and drive off like we saw in the video of that college student earlier in the year. That should never be the MO of law enforcement in this country.

Their actions resemble what we see in the movies from underground criminal organizations, not respectable law enforcement doing their civil duty.

You do not have to be a US citizen to serve in the US military. Indeed many immigrants will serve in the military to accelerate their citizenship applications.
I can't say why this son of a serving US soldier was deported.

Everyone here who's spoken to the mask has intended the entire shmear, not just the mask...

My guess would be that his father was not (yet) a US citizen when he was born. A baby born to a US citizen serving overseas in the armed forces will normally become a US citizen, but may be offered German citizenship. I know because I have known people who declined German citizenship, after having been born in Germany to military parents.

This guy turned 18 in 2004. He has had 21 years to get this sorted out. He did not take care of this.
Now, it has bitten him in the backside.

The article is written to obfuscate, not clarify.

Move along, nothing to see here...

While it’s not yet clear how many citizens have been affected by the administration’s attack on immigrant communities, a government report found that between 2015 and 2020, Ice erroneously deported at least 70 US citizens, arrested 674 and detained 121.
