we will have to buy a car in the next year or two, im not looking forward to it
I used Edmunds again for my preliminary research. I find their format and reporting very helpful in determining which of my priorities are met by various models.

I've got 155K miles on my 2012 Outback. I'm hoping to nurse it along for at least another 45K before I start looking.
we currently have a 2016 mazda cx5 with about 120k that will probably what our daughter initially drives when she gets her license next year.

that’s been our only car for over 2 years now

we will are going to look at getting either an electric or plug-in hybrid for our next one

Egg prices have gone down because supply is higher.

The supply was down because of Bird Influenza.

I didn’t realize Trump played such an instrumental role with the CDC.

Amazing that he can get egg prices to drop single handily and still smash out 18-Holes on Sunday’s.

What a guy

Have you ever noticed that even though eggs supposedly cause high cholesterol leading to heart attacks, you never see a chicken receiving CPR?

I’m probably the first one to ever notice that.

My Outback was one of the last to not have backup cameras. Which precluded my kids from getting it as a hand-me-down car. Amazing, today's kids can't drive a stick, and are horrified with driving a car without a backup camera.

the cx5 was my first automatic transmission car. we had a 2008 5-speed mazda 3 that finally went chest up 2 years ago

i do have to say that i really like having back up cameras and the lane warning chime/light on the side mirrors. i do miss driving a stick shift though

I pretty much drove a stick most of my life up until 2017, when I totaled my 2004 Forester and needed a new ride. I've grown to love my Outback but I miss the manual transmission. And my Forester was one of the last Subaru SUVs that had a weather radio.

There is no way I will get an electric vehicle. Unless they improve charging times. If I'm on a road trip, I'm not going to want sit at a charging station for 2 hus every 250-300 miles. They would be great for city driving, but I'm on the road more now on weekends.

You just reminded me of something - because, of course, everything does.

Last year when my child and I went to Scotland, we missed our connecting flight from Heathrow to Inverness and had to stay the night in a London Radisson. As a result, they did not hold my reserved rental car for me at Inverness. So we flew in the next day, and I had to go to the rental desk at their tiny airport. Key thing for me - no stick shift because I was going to have to adjust to driving on the RIGHT side of the car AND the right side of the road, much less figuring out how to shift with my weaker arm.

She offered me an electric car.

Then she noted, "Charging stops are few in the highlands, and it's snowy and freezing with more snow projected."

She talked me out of it. Big tall kind of attractive woman named Donna.

a large majority of our driving is in the city with the occasional trip out of town so we will probably go the phev route.

Molly Jong-Fast speculated today that Trump might have botched the Iran war so badly, he might opt to release the Epstein Files to distract from the war.

I don't see that happening since he at least has a leg to stand on with the war.

PHEV is the perfect solution for your kind of life. My parents traded their MachE for an Outback PHEV and are thrilled with it (after roughly two years of ownership).

My '03 LC has 250k+ miles and runs like new, so I'm sticking with it. Assuming typical results from routine maintenenace, it shoudl outlast me, saving someone staring at their phone crashing into me and totalling it...

Hegseth: "Some in the press just can't stop. Allow me to make a few suggestions. People look at the TV and they see banners, headlines -- I used to be in that business, I know everything is written intentionally. For example, a banner -- 'Mideast War Intensifies.' What should the banner read instead? How about, 'Iran increasingly desperate,' because they are. Or more fake news from CNN. The sooner David Ellison takes over that network, the better."
