Joe has a myspace. The title is something to the effect of, "I dont kno what 2 do"
His background music is Linkin Park - Somewhere I belong. It is riddled with fans of all schools posting comments.

I think McKnight has kinda cooled on us because of the in-state pressure. I hope we can lure in Devine. He could be an academic casualty, but I think we should get our foot in the door if he goes the prep school route. If Saban pulls that off...then damn. Thats all you can really say.

I don't think there's any indication that this is true IMO. He's doing exactly what he's said he's going to do all along, which is to announce on signing day. I believe we're still very much in the mix and if he were to cave under the pressure, I believe he would have already done so. I would feel a whole lot better if he did visit though.

The in state pressure to go to LSU (for a top recruit like JM) is tremendous. This state (for the most part) has drinked the Kool Aid of the football gods and has now (in my opinion) put themselves in the same category as Bama fans have been put in for years. OBSESSIVE and INTENSE.

People in Louisiana have tasted what it's like to be a "power house" football team and (as any normal fanbase would) they absolutely love it and do not want it to end. Make no mistake about it. These kids are being heavily pressured to go to LSU. To spurn them and go the other way wouldn't be a pretty thing.

Don't think for ONE MINUTE that's not going through McKnight's mind...

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm fully aware that the pressure this young man is under must be beyond belief, all I was trying to say was there doesn't seem to be any indication that he's backed off his interest in coming here because of it. I know he's under intense pressure to go to LSU but that doesn't mean he IS going to LSU, at least not yet.

... and don't you know he's watching closely how the whole Luther Davis thing's been going down

I'm sure he is and I'm sure he's been point blank told by those peers that hate Saban that going to Bama would not be the most popular thing to do...

But I hear JM is a level headed kid and is mature way beyond his years. Either way if he chooses Bama we'll know that kid is a trooper. Because there will be some PO'ed tigger fans.

I agree Bamabuzzard and, it's important to remember that he's got the support and advice of a very strong and what I understand, good man in John Curtis, his HC coach.

LSU fans are crazy and I would not want to Pizz... off Coach Curtis and if they continue to go after McKnight like they have Luther Davis then LSU will IMHO...be very foolish and end up losing this guy...they may not have him anyway and I believe we have a shot at him. I don't know how large, but as another poster mentioned, you know the McKnight camp is looking at the Davis fallout and wants to protect Joe and it will not sit well with them if he's pressured in a way that is disrespectful and threatening...Again JMO...

Surely this is a misprint....

McKnight is listed by Rivals as the top running back prospect — a combination of good size, blinding speed (4.27 in 40-yard dash) with incomparable instincts and field vision.

-- 45 carries for 719 yards — 15.7 per carry average — for 14 touchdowns.
-- 24 catches for 735 yards — 30.6 yards per catch — for 13 TDs.
-- Returned three of 12 punts for TDs, averaging 22.3 yards per punt return; 34.6 yards on kickoff returns.

Consider McKnight only played the length of an entire game twice in 14 opportunities — Curtis outscored its opposition by 36 points per game — and you get a better grasp on his productivity.

The only thing I question about those stats is the 4.27 40 yd dash time. He is listed as having 4.4 40 speed. Other than that, all of those stats are legit. The guy is a threat to take it to the house every time he touches the ball. He may have what some people refer to as "next man" speed. He runs a little faster than the man next to him, no matter who it is.

AKA George Teague speed

Yes. I'm not a Bama fan, but I remember him well. I believe it was Teague who made my favorite play of all time against Miami in the Sugar Bowl. Am I right?

Correct! He caught Lamar "I'm the fastest man in the game" Thomas from behind (WELL behind, too! I'm still floored that he caught up to him...)

It was...simply...beautiful! Not only caught him, but took the ball away from him like he was a little kid running away from a MAN.

The funny part of that "play" is, it doesn't exist in the play-by-play of the game. Bama was offsides so the Canes took the penalty.

Indeed, what a great play, though.
