What song would you like to hear, when the Jumbo Trons kick on for the first game?

But "American Pie" is one of the greatest songs ever written.
... and the death of Buddy Holly has zero to do with politics .
So , back  . I would hate to think I ever learned a political tune . guitar

Oh yeah, well I'm marinading a 1lb bottom round while listening to Tool. So there! :D
We have found common ground ......

EDIT: This is considered as the definitive translation for "American Pie" - http://user.pa.net/~ejjeff/pie.html
It's about growing up , American life & culture , not politics .

BTW - NL 1 AL 0 after 4 innings .

I can't wait for CNS to EARN a spot on the video .

Because ...... well , here's 10 quick ones ......

I hate bands who choose to politicize themselves .
I hate bands who poke fun at our leaders .
I hate bands who hate their country .
I hate bands who make fun of our nation .
I hate the band .
I hated the band way before any of the above .
It's been played for way to long .
The lyrics are terrible .
The song doesn't translate well for being covered by a marching band .
The South doesn't share the lost values of dirty punk drug addicts .

.... make it 11 - It SUCKS .
No , make it 12 - Anyone who follows up the 9/11 attacks with the release of "American Idiot" - should be shot . :p_evil:

Anyway , I feel like my IQ lessens with every note that's played .

JOMO :p

i think you have a hate issue. the bama band does a great job covering the song. our nation needs to be made fun of some time. the government is to corrupt. american idiot has nothing to do with 9/11. you are one of the people that because you hate green, you hate the sky because the grass is green.

I think you have an obvious typing and ................ nevermind .

New coach , attitude and era . How about some new music ?:p_blank:

Wikipedia lists more varied interpretations for the verses, since it's not as if there's a single accepted meaning. That's the beauty of good art, I suppose. :)

Just saw their show over in Birmingham a few weeks ago. They didn't play anything from Undertow, sadly, but remained just as good as the last time I saw them. :)

:frown:

That's possibly my favorite video . Cool band .

I would like to hear Stevie Ray Vaughn's version of Voodoochile (the 1st part when the song starts), being played while the players slowly walk out of the tunnel, not jumping, or cheering or "locking arms" but kinda like a boxer that is coming to the ring to beat the crap out of his opponent. Focused and intimidating. What do you think?

SRV Live - http://youtube.com/watch?v=1GSpbuFSr2o :cool2:

That whole "Enter Sandman" thing is VT's. Call me an elitist, but I don't enjoy copying others' ways of doing things, mostly because I think our way is better and always will be. Alabama deserves traditions all her own, not something watered down by the fact that someone else has routinely done it before us.

That's exactly what I said when I brought up "Sandman" in my original post. I love it, but it's too late for us to start using it now.

I like it!

I liked the suggestions for "Those About to Rock" by AC/DC and "The Boys are Back in Town" by Thin Lizzy. If we going with SRV, then "House is Rockin" would be the best fit.

For the 70' fans.... How about "Riding the Storm Out" by REO Speedwagon.

LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR !!! Just flat out rocks and I hope when the game is over there are WC players left mashed all over the field!!

Uncle John's Band - Grateful Dead

"Come hear Uncle Johns Band, Playing to the Tide"

Of course, the quarts of Jack Daniels would need to be replaced with bongs ;)

if we could get 92,000 singing row row row your boat in the round, it would be impressive. creepy, but impressive

or maybe, "fulmer, he only had one ball, miles had two but very small, meyer had something similar, and poor old tubberville had no balls at all"
