JPW is not getting the job done. This guy has completely lost it with his throwing mechanics, as he's throwing off of his backfoot, which results in lack of zip in his passes and not being accurate with his passes at all. Getting old, seeing him "float" the ball up in the air. We obviously need a spark on offense, and I've said it all along that McElroy is what we need. This guy has a arm and is more mobile than Wilson. I only believe that the main reason Wilson is still our man, is because of his experience. Why not try McElroy next week, and see if he can really carry this offense. If so, I would love to see him start against Auburn, over JPW. If Saban wanted to play the guys that are capable of getting the job done, time to sit JPW then. 'Enough said.....

From what I've read the off. line played like crap. Coach Saban will probably say that again in the press conference just like he did about the fsu game.

It's too late for GM. You dance with who brung ya.

Of couse unless you pull a Croyle, as in au 2 years ago, He should have been jerked after the 3rd sack in the first quarter.

Let's all pray JPW has a great game against au or Bama is toast, because we sure as he11 won't run on them.

There are 2 games left in the season (plus the bowl game). Why would Saban want to waste a year of McElroy's eligibility for 3 games (one of which is meaningless)?

The ULM game is a given, no matter who plays QB. So that means the McElroy would get his first meaningful experience against Auburn and Quinten Groves. Groves is a beast and our O-Line hasn't blocked well for JPW the past few weeks. I don't think this is the game to have McElroy get his first taste of SEC defenses.

If Saban thought McElroy was a better option at QB, he would have put him in by now. At this point, you are wasting a year of eligibility for minor gains. I say let JPW finish out the season and evaluate the QB position in th off-season and the spring.

(Also, I don't recall hearing all this JPW bashing/complaints after he torched Tennessee a few weeks ago.)

I don't think you'll find many that wouldn't agree JPW should be benched for a bit after today, if only we had a backup deemed worthy to take his place if need be.

I agree, he deserves a shot to see what he can do. JPW is just making way to many dumb mistskes. When things are clicking he's good, but under any amount of pressure he's awful. This loss is squarely on his shoulders.
And all bone head mistakes.
If i were the coach, i'd stick McElroy in next week and get him aome playing time, we may need him down the road.

I agree with most of what you say. Don't know about the redshirt thing.

JPW did play great against ut, but I'd rather know what to expect out of a qb than having to wait till game time to find out.

But.... The ut win could be more attributed to fulmer and his staff being idiots than JPW.:)

McElroy should have more playing time under his belt. Doesn't mean he's better than JPW. You have to feel like Coach Saban felt JPW would improve with more experience......he still may, but time is running out.

He should have been given a chance this week but JPW starts next week. Mayby if the OL starts holding up their end JPW will do a much better job.

JPW directly led to at least 7 points today (and MSU would have gotten at least a FG on his 2nd INT so there's 10). McElroy simply handing the ball off and playing field position would have probably been enough to win. On this issue Saban looks as stubborn as Shula (and unfortunately equally as wrong).
