JPW directly led to at least 7 points today (and MSU would have gotten at least a FG on his 2nd INT so there's 10). McElroy simply handing the ball off and playing field position would have probably been enough to win. On this issue Saban looks as stubborn as Shula (and unfortunately equally as wrong).
I hope that you aren't serious. On that series more than the interception happened. Poor usage of timeouts led us to having to throw on third down. Two runs up the middle prior to the interception with a small tailback. Then letting a man go unblocked on the side that JPW rolled out to did the damage. JPW didn't have a ggod game but there was alot more wrong with that series than JPW. Don't forget the drop pass by Stover on a perfectly thrown ball and the Nick Walkers drop on the next play.

Quit jumping on one person when all but the kicking team let us down.

There are 2 games left in the season (plus the bowl game). Why would Saban want to waste a year of McElroy's eligibility for 3 games (one of which is meaningless)?

The ULM game is a given, no matter who plays QB. So that means the McElroy would get his first meaningful experience against Auburn and Quinten Groves. Groves is a beast and our O-Line hasn't blocked well for JPW the past few weeks. I don't think this is the game to have McElroy get his first taste of SEC defenses.

If Saban thought McElroy was a better option at QB, he would have put him in by now. At this point, you are wasting a year of eligibility for minor gains. I say let JPW finish out the season and evaluate the QB position in th off-season and the spring.

(Also, I don't recall hearing all this JPW bashing/complaints after he torched Tennessee a few weeks ago.)
Both McElroy and Fanuzzi have played this year. Neither can redshirt, so that is not an issue. I must assume that the coaches know a lot more than I do, so there must be a reason that Wilson keeps getting to play when he continually makes too many mistakes. I think Saban has shown that he is going to play the best players, so Wilson must be the best we have. I think we may want to recruit another QB with this class to go with Jackson.

GM should have played the 2nd quarter of the fsu game, but what do I know.
It wasn't him, Coach Saban, it was you. Remember when you said, "Kid, this ain't your night. We're going with Wilson." You remember that? "This ain't your night"! My night! I coulda taken Wilson apart! So what happens? He gets the fumble outdoors in the ballpark that leads to a FSU touchdown and what do I get? A one-way ticket to Palookaville!

Its already been said but IMO JPW today was 85% of our problem! The other 15% goes to Cadells drop (sure 7) and Browns drops and finally why in the world did the kid who tansferred NOT see more time... it was him who led the drive b4 half that led to JPW's pick. In Q4 the kid ran with heart.

Bottom line is if we expect to stay within 21 points of Auburn we better get better real quick or it will be a LONG game.

If he's not good enough to come in when the starter can't do ANYTHING, then what in the world are we gonna do if the starter ever gets injured? How much worse could it have been today?
Everyone has an "off day" or bad vibes or whatever. I'm with you on this one. If the starter is having an off day (or limping around crippled) and he is still better than the backup--what does that say about the backup?

I think all y'all saying GM shouldn't be put in are crazy. His stats are better than JPW's. (I haven't checked them but I'm sure they're better).

And if you need any more proof, take a look at his high school videos. Even his junior high videos. Against quality junior high teams!!!

As they say the proof is in the puddin'.

There was a couple that pulled over to the side of the road coming home from the game today and had a sign made of butcher paper that read...."McAroy?" I'm thinking they want a change but would like to see McElroy. It humored me on the ride home.

Yep Greg was 8-9-0 against WC so he would be around 160-180 in SEC play?

If you're talking about highlight films, you'll never see bad plays on highlight films. Everyone looks like all-Americans on those things.

He might one day prove to be better than Wilson but I wouldn't use a high-school recruiting highlight video to make the evaluation.

Have you watched any of the games this season? GM played mop up duty against WC and the last series against UT...so how can you compare their stats? I bet JPW's HS videos look just as good as GM's....what you see on HS video might not translate to the field in college....the speed of the two games is not comparable! I'm not saying who should be playing....that's why CNS makes the big bucks! Yes, I'm frustrated by the loss too but your reasoning in this quoted post makes no sense!

We have nothing to lose, might as well see what he can do. Maybe he does well, maybe not, but considering we have a QB that has done his fair share in losing 3 games...it wouldnt hurt to see.

If he was better or even close to even with JPW don't you think the coaching staff is smart enough to give him a shot? IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Games are different. I know this may hurt but everyones hero Shaun Alexander wasn't exactly a weight room warrior, or even a practice warrior. Games bring the best out in some, and the opposite in others...
