JPW directly led to at least 7 points today (and MSU would have gotten at least a FG on his 2nd INT so there's 10). McElroy simply handing the ball off and playing field position would have probably been enough to win. On this issue Saban looks as stubborn as Shula (and unfortunately equally as wrong).
There are 2 games left in the season (plus the bowl game). Why would Saban want to waste a year of McElroy's eligibility for 3 games (one of which is meaningless)?
The ULM game is a given, no matter who plays QB. So that means the McElroy would get his first meaningful experience against Auburn and Quinten Groves. Groves is a beast and our O-Line hasn't blocked well for JPW the past few weeks. I don't think this is the game to have McElroy get his first taste of SEC defenses.
If Saban thought McElroy was a better option at QB, he would have put him in by now. At this point, you are wasting a year of eligibility for minor gains. I say let JPW finish out the season and evaluate the QB position in th off-season and the spring.
(Also, I don't recall hearing all this JPW bashing/complaints after he torched Tennessee a few weeks ago.)
GM should have played the 2nd quarter of the fsu game, but what do I know.

If he's not good enough to come in when the starter can't do ANYTHING, then what in the world are we gonna do if the starter ever gets injured? How much worse could it have been today?
doesnt matter he redshirted last year i believeDidn't McElroy play in some of the first few games of this season? Western Carolina comes to mind. Doesn't that already burn this year's eligibility?
I think all y'all saying GM shouldn't be put in are crazy. His stats are better than JPW's. (I haven't checked them but I'm sure they're better).
And if you need any more proof, take a look at his high school videos. Even his junior high videos. Against quality junior high teams!!!
As they say the proof is in the puddin'.

Games are different. I know this may hurt but everyones hero Shaun Alexander wasn't exactly a weight room warrior, or even a practice warrior. Games bring the best out in some, and the opposite in others...If he was better or even close to even with JPW don't you think the coaching staff is smart enough to give him a shot? IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
