Ohio State. Don't believe the hype. It will be just like last years MNC game. When they talk about athletes in the Big Ten they are referring to the skill positions. In the SEC we are talking about all 22 positions. Give Glenn Dorsey a month to get healthy, along with Flynn and I don't think OSU can hang with this team. ESPN is trying to hype it up, but lets face it, this isn't a very sexy matchup. OSU has not played anywhere near the level of competition LSU did, and could not have upgraded their overall talent level in a year. Last year was evidence of the talent gap that exists between the two conferences, and not much has changed. The only way I see OSU winning is if Les coaches his way out of the game.

I know I'm in the minority here but after the way SEC teams acted when we were getting hit with "still to this day, un-substantiated violations" there is no way I will ever pull for any other SEC team but Bama. As far as I am concerened we are the SEC, all by ourself.

lsu will not romp. they should win but will not romp. lsu is very beatable. heck if bama can go down to the wire with lsu while being so short handed then ohio state can easily pull out a win. ive got two words for you ,,jim trussell. he can coach. lsu? they got their man, need i say more.

I gotta be honest, I have a hard time pulling for other SEC teams as well. I know we're supposed to. But Skynyrd is right. A lot of these other schools in the SEC tried to bury us alive under the dirt. I also understand the argument of doing well in bowls makes the conference look better. Does the conference really need to look any better than it does right now?

I'm with you, LS.

I am with you 1000%. Why would any Bama fan in their right mind pull for a team that is in your conference division and more importantly, recruits head to head against you? More BCS crystal hardware put in the trophy case on Nickolson Drive does nothing but hurt Bama in the recruiting war. Alas, the comeback is we have to support the SEC. Yes, the same SEC that tries whenever they can to bring us down and talks smack about us as much as possible. I used to like LSU before Saban came but when they became a powerhouse, their fan base behavior turned horrible. I mean why torment Bama fans at a bowl that you aren't even playing in? Why cheer at your home stadium when the Bama score against an out-of-conference team is read over the PA? Yeah, I support the rest of the SEC, to lose.

I make a small exception for the Dawgs. I kinda like them and they are in the East so I don't feel so bad.

Exactly where is all of "hype" that says Ohio State will win this thing? As far as I can tell, more people than not expect LSU to win it.

As for the game, who even knows? LSU is not all that great -- sorry, make all the excuses you want, but great teams don't lose to Arkansas and Kentucky -- but what about Ohio State? They might be great, but who even knows? The haven't played the quality of competition to know one way or the other.

It could very well go either way, and pick is essentially going to be a crapshoot.

And speaking of the "hype" that says Ohio State will win it all...

According to BetUS, LSU is actually a 4.5 point favorite in the national championship game and with an over / under of 50. Basically the betting class is picking LSU in a 28-24 game.

So, if anything, it seems like all the "hype" says that LSU will win, not the other way around.

To heck with rooting for the rest of the SEC, I hope they all lose 45-0 if it will help our recruiting.

Also, LSU is clearly very beatable. Any team that commits as many stupid penalties and plays with as little discipline as they do is always vulnerable.

Who tried to bury you? I don't remember anything done or said by LSU against Bama when y'all got hit with sanctions?

I don't either, its just been the past year that LSU has become such a hated rival, and thats more on LSU's side than ours. LSU or Ohio State, hmmmm, let me think a second. I will pull for LSU. I can't pull for the Yanks, but if they were to win, I will not lose a winks sleep!

Um... during probation?

If only the Alabama hatred in this conference were only limited to the probationary period.

Fact is, just about every other school in the conference either outright hates us or does nothing but talk bad about us and constantly put us down. Tennessee, Auburn, and LSU outright hate us, and it's not like the rest of the SEC really has anything for us. Ever notice all of the anti-Alabama t-shirts? Or how about when just about basically every team in the SEC erupts into cheer when they announce over the PA that Alabama has lost? What about the bad-mouthing of our coaches, past and present? And how supposedly all we've ever won is because of cheating? And good God we hear the "high expectations," "living in the past," and the "Bear is dead" mantra every day of the week.

Obviously the rest of the SEC has nothing for us, and if anything seemingly gets joy from our problems. Why in the heck would I root for those guys?

This whole "pull for the SEC" mantra is a joke. They have nothing for us, so why should I care if we don't beat the Big Ten? Who cares? Why root for LSU in the title game? Do you honestly think for one second that about 90 per cent of the LSU fan base isn't hoping that Colorado annihilates us and Saban?

They have nothing for us. I have nothing for them. Aside from Tennessee and Auburn, I will generally root for any SEC team from one time to another, but I'm certainly not obligated to do so.

Bottom line: I'm an Alabama fan. Not an SEC fan. Big distinction.

I had LSU by 3.5 TD's last season against ND but only 3.0 TD's this season against OSU. 31-10 LSU. :BigA:

I believe what LS was referring to were the fans of rival SEC teams and yes they were and still are quite rude to us. Downright lies were posted on rival boards, LSU included.

Amen to that! Great point!

I can't change anyone's opinion or point of view and I respect what each of you guys have to say (except for hating on the Yankees part, I'm a damn yankee myself lol, but I love my fellow Tide fans regardless), but in my very own opinion, the bowl season is the time of year we set all of our differences aside and cheer for the family we absolutely love to hate (excluding Opelika Tech of course). We can rant and rave about each other all day, but truth of the matter is, deep down inside, we all share a mutual love for each other and that's the bottom line. If that wasn't the case, then we would spend less time bashing each other and more time concerning our very own selves.

And even to sound a bit selfish, think of it this way: the more out of conference wins an SEC team racks up, the better Alabama looks seeing how we're also member of the SEC. This is by far the toughest conference, and we should all be proud to play in a conference alongside some of the nation's most elite programs.

When an LSU fan says to me "I always cheer for you guys when you play the barn" immediately LSU's stock goes up in my book, despite the fact that it's one person. Of course, I know several Alabama fans cheer for Opelika Polytechnic Institute when they're not playing Alabama, but never will I support that rundown program EVER again! And the enemy of my enemy will always have a special place in my heart.

I would say if you're a college football lover as well as an Alabama lover, you should cheer for conference always; if you're only an Alabama lover, you should only cheer for Alabama and Alabama only.

Of course, I consider myself a "college football lover," even though I love Alabama more than anything in this world, I will always represent my conference in out of conference action. Screw the Big 10, Pac 10, ACC, Big East, and any other conference who has the nerve to stand in the path of the mighty SEC!

If it's a minority, it's a LARGE minority. For those who do root for the LooSUers; what school was represented by the fans in purple jerseys rooting for OK State in Shreveport last year? If your answer is LSU then you should maybe re-examine your views of that team.

You were doing pretty well until the last sentence.

Ughhh...I hope Saban can turn this thing around. Most of you guys are whiners, and will continue to whine until we start winning chanpionships.

I am sorry but you have to accept the reality of the past few years. Get your dignity back and get on board for the future.

I will be pulling for LSU to take it to them. Their winning won't affrect our future.

A National Championship is a great recruiting tool. A lot of great talent comes from Louisiana, we want that talent. I think you can follow the logic.
