According to OU's Rival's site Bradford was a RS freshman this past season which is what I believed he was as well which means (if indeed correct) he would be eligible to turn pro after next season if he chose to.

There's a possibility that Jones won't even start next year in OU, they already have such good talent there including their top receiver returning. And the possibility Bradford leaves early. While we'd be looking for him to maybe be number 1 next year, and while he's no future NFL guy we'd be returning a Senior QB that can put up numbers and fed our all time leading receiver this season. And get the chance to play with a friend in Star after that.

I think he's a lock for Bama. Not just for those reasons, but for many others aswell. 1 being them making him watch a girls basketball game on one of his rare visits there. :rolleye2:
Jones will start next year REGARDLESS of where he goes! His size, speed and athleticism guarantee that! VERY, VERY FEW schools have a WR who is 6'4" and 215lbs who can run and jump! Believe me, he'll start next year! Hopefully its for us!

My mistake in terms of when he can come out. Yes, he was a RS freshman this year.

I do not think he will come out early but who knows.

Some interesting talk coming from over on this end. We have only two scholarships left but have told a whole list of potential recruits that we're through, including the Scott kid. There is an undercurrent on OU forums that seems to hint that JJ. & Lester might be silent commits to OU.

Do not read anything into this. I see it as wishful thinking at best. The interview about their visit was the standard politically correct responses although J.J. did say that Norman & OU reminded him of Alabama,

Lol, theres been speculation of the silent commit on our end too for awhile. The fans on both sides have to talk about something I guess.
Having said that, if he commits to a school other than Bama, I'd rather it be OU. Ya'll are having a great class too, as is BAMA, so he'd be the icing on the cake, either way.
Thanks for the update from your end. :BigA:

Haha! If ANYONE had a chance to pull BJ Scott from Bama they would do it in a heartbeat, he is one of the best recruits in the nation. You don't tell a player like Scott you are "done" you tell him that you will make plenty of room for him.

OU knew from the UF visit that BJ would just be there to talk up Alabama to JJ. That is the reason Scott's visit was cancelled. Just to set things straight ;)

Agreed. I seriously doubt any school would turn down a visit from one of the top 50 players in the nation, even if their class is "full." Coaches play with the numbers all the time. Not trying to pick on the OU comments, but let's be realistic. BJ was told they weren't bringing him in b/c of their fear of his influence on JJ. With that said, if JJ doesn't come to Bama, I hope he goes to OU so he is out of the SEC.

I would tend to agree with you on Scott but we just got a commit from a highly recruuited JC LB who filled our needs @ that position.

I have to admit, this is a lot of fun for me. Usually, I don't pay that close of attention to recruiting, particularly as it relates to other schools but this particular situation is intriguing. I don't think I have to tell you all how I feel about the Tide so this is a unique circumstance that is like going to a funny & enjoyable movie. The ending is less the issue than the story line.

We both are having great recruiting years. It's all good!

Burton Scott is a great athlete (but no LB) and has been projected to play WR or CB.

Yes it is very fun! I enjoy the recruiting season as much as the actual football season. I'm not sure which one I lose more sleep over, haha. Good luck to OU!

Did you grow up in Alabama, or do you have UA ties?

Re: Julio Jones and Robert Lester are officially visiting OU. Scott's visit was cance

To clarify.....the recent "get" @ LB simply filled a much needed spot that reduced our openings & apparently, these spots are being held for JJ & Lester but possibly a couple of others in Texas.

By the way, I understand that the player host for the two was our talented young TE, Jermaine Gresham from Ardmore.

No I am not from Alabama.....born & raised in Ok & a citizen of Texas for 44 of my 66 years. I have always been a fan of the Tide. I have tried to make sense of my feelings and it always seems to come down to the amazing similarities in the two programs.. legendary coaches, their colors, tradition, national championships, the wishbone, & on & on & on.

I must tell you that when you all walked on Owen Field in the first of the recent home/home I had tears in my eyes. I made the trip to Tuscaloosa the next year & was equally as emotional.I started posting over here when that series began & have been visiting ever since.

I am a traditionalist when it comes to college football. OU & Alabama are at least in the top 5 all-time in teams in the hierarchy of the sport we all love. You can add USC & ND to that list. #5 may be debatable....TOSU, Nebraska, Michigan.....I don't know. All I know is, we're right up there, where we're supposed to be.

Here's hoping we play again soon & it's for all the marbles. The way we've sucked in bowl games, your a lock for an NC in that game ha!

Julio and Lester's visit to OK

I've seen on titles of subscribed sites that they were talking about their OU visit, can someone update us on what they said?

Re: Julio and Lester's visit to OK

It would be a no-no to update you on what they said, but...

Julio will be tight-lipped until NSD, and Lester isn't going to change anything most likely unless it's a surprising switch on NSD.

No big news. The only thing I noted was they both said that Norman was very similar to Tuscaloosa.

So why would a guy go that far away from his family to get the "same" thing?

Re: Julio and Lester's visit to OK

I feel like once I read something I can tell you what it said. Perhaps I can't quote it, but I always thought it was bizarre that copyright laws somehow can reach into my brain and make my thoughts someone else's property.
LOL :p_lol:. I always think it's funny when people say that, too. It's like me going to a movie, and you asking me about the movie. "Sorry, I can't tell you...you have to go buy a ticket"!

I agree that you shouldn't "quote" a premium article, but let's face it. Once it's released, it's public knowledge. The advantage to subscribing is that you get to hear it FIRST...not that you get to be the ONLY one that hears it.

It is kind of weird, but the way I see it, if you hear something and then talk to someone about it, there is no infringement. But reading something on a website, especially a pay site, and then posting it on another site is kind of like reading something in the newspaper and then printing it in another paper. A message board is not the same as talking to your buddy, it's talking to the whole world (at least all the parts of it that take the time to visit ).

Again, quoting it is wrong...but just paraphrasing about it isn't...IMHO.
