Re: Alabama 2008 Commitments and Prospects List

Luck has an offer from Bama now and he looks to be one of the best QBs in the state of Texas this year. Another big QB who can really move, much like the other QBs CNS has offered.

Also, should be mentioned that WR Chris Tolliver from LA now has an offer from Bama. He'll be one of the most highly recruited players in LA this year, and one of the most highly recruited WRs in the South IMO.

Lucky, being from TX might actually help us at this point w/ regards to recruiting against the Big 12. TX, aTm, and OU all have QB commits already.

Re: Alabama 2008 Commitments and Prospects List

Lol, check out his Scout picture.

lol, yeah, I was actually going to include it in my post but I figured it would look like I was making fun of him since I didnt post with any other prospect pics before. Hard to believe it was cold enough for that since hes not wearing the matching coat.

Hadnt seen that done before anyway so I didnt know if it was against the rules or something.

Add WR Deion Walker from VA to the offer list. A Rival's 100 member and an explosive athlete. Great size too.

Here is a good article on Deion Walker. He likes CNS and he thinks CNS is like a drill sergeant on the field.

Who's the Drill Sergeant?
Deion Walker attended junior days at Tennessee, Penn State and Maryland and may go to summer camps at USC and Tennessee. "Tennessee is an amazing place," Walker said. "The fans are really intense and they were asking me for my autograph and everything. They are very into football..."

Are your eyes playing tricks on you or are mine? I see an offer, but it's not from the Tide, it's from the barn.

Re: Alabama 2008 Commitments and Prospects List

Sam McGuffie is not mentioning Alabama among his favorites.

As We Speak…
"USC's looking at my tape right now as we speak," said the Sam McGuffie, who is ranked by Scout.com as the nation's No. 42 prospect. "I want an offer from them so bad. I really like Coach Ken Norton..."I'm waiting for LSU to offer too. They are really high on my list. Coach (Larry) Porter said he's coming to watch me play..."I want an offer from Ohio State too..."

Re: Alabama 2008 Commitments and Prospects List

Brice Butler is not listing Alabama among his favorites.

Action Receiver
Brice Butler says he going to try and visit as many schools as he can this summer. "The most important thing to me is hitting it off with the coach," Butler said. "Feeling comfortable with the coaching staff is huge. Also, I want to get a good education and, of course, play as early as I can. If I have to redshirt, I don't mind, but I'd rather not..."

I dont know how well he would fit in at LSU with comments like this:

"I'm waiting for LSU to offer too," said McGuffie, who credits himself with 4.4 forty speed. "They are really high on my list. Coach (Larry) Porter said he's coming to watch me play. I went up there to the spring game and I was shocked at how slow their running backs were. I know I could go in there and really help the offense out. They really need speed. I think they're going to offer soon. I gave my tape to Coach (Les) Miles personally. So I know he has it. I'm thinking of taking an official visit there later this year."

If I was a RB for LSU I wouldnt be too pleased to hear that from a prospective recruit.

See! See! Ahh ha!!! I knew I wasnt crazy. Scout has contradicting information.

Talladega's Tae Keith is one of the top receivers in the state. Keith holds scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn and Mississippi State. He sure passed the eye test as well measuring 6-1, 196-pounds and recorded a 4.68 forty-yard dash.

I dont know what the deal is. He must not have one and they fixed it on his player profile but didnt edit this story. Stupid Scout! :biggrin2:

LOL! Hey, I never doubted you I knew it wasn't your fault!
This is just an example of why I'm always a little leery of Scout, they seem to take forever in updating their info.

Rivals now shows DB Neiko Lipscomb from Tucker High School in Tucker, Ga as having an offer from the Tide.

Physical play is a top requirement to play cornerback in Alabama coach Nick Saban's secondary. One Georgia prospect that fits the bill recently received an offer from the Tide staff. With other offers from Auburn, Georgia, Virginia Tech among others, this 6-foot-2 defender is one of the south's top cover corners.
