2011 RB Propects

Re: Running Backs in 2011

Barring multiple injuries I'd have to think it's almost a given that Fowler would redshirt next year, but we'll see, there's a lot that can happen between now and then.

I hope he does because I am afraid that he has either lost a step or gained some weight not playing this fall.

The kid I saw last year for Vigor was a shorter version of Brandon Jacobs of NY Football Giants fame.

I'd be surprised and disappointed if he hasn't been keeping in shape during this time, but you're probably right about him needing some time to get back up to "game speed." That's why it's all the more likely he redshirts.

What leads you to believe this? (I'm not questioning you, just wondering what you've seen to think this could be the case.)

You can run and lift all you want, but you still have to get your 'football speed' on the field. Coming in this spring will only help. All of this is just an opinion. He could be in excellent condition and puts the pads on and it all will click.

Re: Running Backs in 2011

After having to sit out this season, Fowler might not be too keen on sitting for another season. From all I've read about him, he already has an NFL type body, so he wouldn't need to RS to grow into the job.

It just doesn't sound like there are going to be enough footballs to go around. Next year we'll have Ingram, Richardson, Goode, Lacy, Marrow, T.Grant and Griffin looking for carries, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Fowler redshirt.

Crazy!

Very true. RS or not, he's still one to my top 2 or 3 in this class.

Re: Running Backs in 2011

After watching his film, I can't help but wonder if they would use him in a Aaron Hernandez type role, albeit not necessarily from the TE position (more halfback/situational ace back). His size, speed and agility make me think he'd be lethal on a well-timed shovel pass.

I think so too. As good as he is, and as good as I think he will be in the future, I can't see any way he'll play as a freshman with all the extreme talent ahead of him

Most Texas and OU fans(one who is a friend) feel Green is going to Nebraska and Brown to Texas.
yea, green's got ties to nebraska, then again he's also got ties to baylor, this kids not afraid to go far from home so all i feel we got to do is get him on campus

Even though his brother plays for Nebraska, he may still want to do his own thing like Trent did.(With his brother being at Louisiana-Lafeyette, he still chose Bama instead of LSU. Roll Tide!)

Kenny Hilliard committed to LSU recently. Although the odds weren't great of landing him, I was hoping he would wait a little longer before deciding.

Yeah, as BET, and other have said you could see that coming from a mile away. Right after LSU offered him he listed them as his favorite and it didn't take very long at all for him to commit to them. He is going to be a very good RB for LSU.
