2013 Heisman Trophy Presentation thread

The Winston thing tries my soul. Everything that I know and believe drives me toward the conclusion that he raped that girl, but we will never know with any certainty. I don't want to be petty about these awards, but I just can't help myself. I can't help but feel that he just got away with this, and some other girl is going to get hurt because of it. I just hope that I am wrong.
I HOPE your wrong on all counts, but deep inside my 70+ yr. old soul I feel you're exactly right! Other than fsu fan's and 669 Heisman voter's the majority of the general public seems to think that either there was an extremely stupid cover-up that just makes everything look totally wrong, or at the other end of the spectrum he's guilty as sin! Either way CFB needs a new prestigious award named the 'Nick Saban Career Achievement Award'! My granddaughter goes to fsu, she's so disgusted with it all she's stopped going to any of their sporting events, and she used to be at anything to do with fsu sports... JMO!

That was a great story! Thanks for sharing the link......brought a tear to my eye for the young man and his struggles dealing with CP, as well as from the feeling of pride from having such an outstanding representative of the University of Alabama in AJ McCarron.

Seems like the media and a lot of the voters forget the "with integrity" part of the Heisman's mission statement.......of course that was known in 2010 when old thieving sCam won it....
Goldman, the NPR sports commentator made an interesting observation this AM. Although the mission statement of the Heisman contains "integrity" in it, the actual ballots mailed out don't mention it, or any similar word, at all...

I saw where Winston said he had been vindicated. I'm not sure when we changed the definition of that word but, not charged goes not equal vindicated. I'm disgusted by the priorities in our world today.

Please caution your granddaughter to always have a friend with her. I'm not trying to be quite about this at all but it's open season on young girls at FSU. My bet is you will see more stuff like this, just look at the way this punk is reacting. The authorities are not going against a FSU football player unless they have them on tape.

and is has shown in teir opting since 2010.

His acceptance speech was disgusting, with his smirking and laughing. Does he not take anything in life seriously? Every time he opened his mouth all day in the interviews and then the acceptance speech, I wanted to I wanted to gouge my ears out. He makes me sick. Like someone stated above, there is no doubt in MY mind, based on his history as a privileged athlete, that he got away with rape not once, but possible 3 times. People in his hometown can defend him until the world ends, but he has a juvenile record that suggests he was not the pillar of society he claims to be. Oh well. The Heisman Trust has a LOT of work to do if they want to garner the status they used to have.

I'd like to know what these juvenile issues were, I've seen several references to them without any elaboration .

He's a punk that Karma will eventually get!

I tried listening to his acceptance speech last night and an interview on the radio this morning. Did anyone else find him hard to understand? What I did understand was when he repeated himself. IMO, someone needs to take and go to class on public speaking. Wow!

Yup..What got under my skin was the fake crying, it made him hard to understand, but, his eye's were dry as a desert..It was awkward & uncomfortable feeling..Which is usually the case when the person is faking emoitions & it's truly not from the heart or is heartfelt..JMO
