2014 Prospects

Agree. But over on the 247 board, the anti auburn crowd is out in full force. One poster said the same thing you did and got jam up for complimenting the commitment. Btw, one of his offer Is from Bama. The mob spewed the fact he wasn't a priority for Bama, that maybe the case, and weren't thrilled with anyone who doesn't tote the party line.

I'm hearing that it wasn't a committable offer. Anyone know, if this is true?

I hate when that happens..Committable offer or not..Let the kid enjoy the process..At the end of the day..We're going to get our share of Blue Chippers..

I agree with your sentiment -- for a fanbase whose team is on a historically dominant run, some of us start to seem really insecure if Auburn picks up a good player. Ruffin certainly seems like a good player.

However, in this particular case, I'd be surprised if Ruffin had a commitable offer with Humphrey and Tony Brown still out there, and with Bessent and Roberts already in the fold at CB. The other side of the coin is that some Bama fans (and I'm not saying you're one) can't understand that just because a guy has an "offer," it doesn't mean he can actually commit.

I only update on Watson because Bama offered a few weeks ago.

DeShaun was reportedly in Auburn some time last week. He denies it, but recruiting analysts and some fans living in Auburn still say they saw him in Auburn.

Seems like Bama's former secondary coach doesn't want one of the nation's best DBs...

@marlon_humphrey: Coach Pruitt probably the first coach that has rejected me...I called dude like three times..and facebooked him

Andrew Bone tweeted Coach Smart was at 5* DB Tony Brown's spring game today..I take it we're in a good spot to land this Blue Chipper..

Here's Tony Brown's Rival Page..CLICK ME

We are recruiting Brown very hard, but this one will be a tough fight between us and LSU. Biggest problem we have here, I think, is that he has a sister who runs track at LSU.

Don't get the sense that the in-state appeal is that high here, though. He's from Beaumont, which is right on the border, and it's basically the same distance between Baton Route and College Station.

Yep; aw of right now, I'd expect him at either LSU, A&M or us, with LSU being ahead of the others. But anything can happen and we're a long way from NSD. Assuming we land Clark and Marlon, I'd be very happy with our DB class, but if we can pull in Brown or Tabor, I'd be downright giddy with our DB class. I expect our OL class to be pretty sick as well.

More like a coach not wasting his time = A good thing for us. Who really wants to put themselves in position to look like a loser on a prospect that should be a virtual lock for us.
