2017-2018 Coaching Carousel

"Sources w/knowledge of TAMU search process tell me Jimbo-Fisher has a deal to be next Head Coach @AggieFootball .Fisher will coach 1 final game at FSU but not Bowl game should they become eligible. I'm told his TAMU contract will be at least 5 yrs/7.5 million per year. @KPRC2"

UT’s deal with Schiano fell through because of all the fan backlash. What a mess!

good that it’s their mess, stirring up schiano was a distraction to osu due to the hiring, wonder if the speculations around psu are going to be a different distraction now for osu since that seems to be what ut is protesting...didn’t know he had even coached there

Looks like Ole miss hired Matt Luke for the job. Miss State could be looking to hire Jeremy Pruitt as HC.

I hope not. Would love to see Pruitt get back with the defensive backs again. I think we were at our best when he was helping with them. I like what he does defensively when we don't make plays its seldom because of coaching.

State reportedly has contacted Tampa Bay Bucs' OC Todd Monken to gauge his interest in replacing Mullen.
He turned around Southern Miss after the dumpster fire it had become under Ellis Johnson, but there's not much of a body of work there to know if he can sustain it. I'm guessing possible recruiting ties in the state would be a plus.

Re: 2017-2018 Coaching Carousel Greg Schiano

Thanks - that was the second hand testimony that I found. I did not even know that you were allowed to offer second hand testimony in court, especially if the first hand witness refuted the testimony, but what do I know.
Yes, that would be considered hearsay in most cases if you tried to offer it in court. (Instead of A saying B said "I saw this", you call B to testify about what he saw. There are exceptions, of course, and I don't want to turn this into an Evidence seminar.)

The TAMU Board of Regents has a meeting scheduled for Thursday to discuss the appointment of the next football coach. There's been only one name associated with the search thus far - Jimbo Fischer.
