Only way he should run (and have any chance at all) is if he gets the super delegates behind him en masse. I know the DNC changed things a bit, but they didn’t do away with them entirely.
If that happens, that would tell me he’s the “Chosen One”. I’m not sure that will happen ,and if it doesn’t, who will he support? Unless it’s one of the lowest performers vote/money wise, that person might be the winner.

I’m not getting wound up over any of them. By the time the primary gets here, I’ll make my choice but in the end, I don’t care who wins. It’s ABT for me.

That's sort of my take also. It's too early for me to get all wrapped up in it. I just know that the country needs to be rid of Trump and his mafia...

it may be wishful thinking on my part, but i just don't see them getting behind him.

I'm sure he's being pushed by the old guard of the party, wanting to find someone the party can quickly rally around. Don't think it'll happen.

Both Bill Clinton and Obama used their DNC keystone speeches as springboard to the next presidential election. Warren gave the speech in 2016, and while it raised her visibility a bit, it didn't really give her any momentum.

Everyone just needs to calm down, and let the candidates sort things out. The ONLY thing the DNC needs to do at this point is to make sure that the debates are substantive and mud free, as opposed to the abject embarrassment of the 2016 GOP debates.

the good thing is the quality of candidates is much higher than with the 2016 gop clown car primary

Abjectly embarrassing for all but one Donald Trump, who is unfamiliar with the emotion...
 
My take right now is that Trump probably won’t lose any states he won in 16 (except maybe Ohio), although there might be a surprise here or there. Dems just have to be sure he doesn’t win Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
I don’t think he wins any state he lost to Hillary - I don’t care what the economy is doing.

PA was 44K+, WI was 22K+ and MI 10K+. The only way the Democrats can lose is to pull too far left. If they don't do that, it's a slam dunk...

I basically agree with this. My biggest concern is still Bernie and his loyalists screwing up the general election. I am beginning to sour on Biden and Beto. It looks like the DNC wants Biden to run with the promise of being a one term candidate which, IMO, is political suicide. Lots of time left for all of this to sort itself out.

Well, I don’t agree. Michigan didn’t vote for Trump because Hillary was “too far left”; despite Walker and the crap he pulled, both Wisconsin and Michigan are more liberal than not ( labor unions being a large part of that). Bernie won both primaries, Wisconsin by a large margin.
Trump only won those states because of his opponent.

Small sample size. But jumping from unknown to 3rd place in an Iowa poll with no benefit of name recognition is pretty impressive.

Yup.

No voter who hears "gay man" and automatically says "nope" was ever truly in contention for the Democratic vote, IMO. Same for voters who have that reaction to "woman president." The guy just doesn't seem to polarize people the same way candidates like Sanders, Clinton, Biden, Warren, etc do. Part of it is the benefit of being an unknown name without an ingrained reaction in voters. And part of it is just the way he communicates.

If Pete Buttigieg makes good on his "support" of single-payer, getting our service members out of Afghanistan, and being labor-focused then I will gladly fall in on him. I expect support to mean using his power as the executive to push his party to put that agenda on paper for him to sign...not the immediate bowing down to conservative pressure that we saw on almost everything that Obama got lifted into office by saying.

But I know Senator Sander's labor leanings and ideological underpinnings much better than a mayor in a state two states over. So Bernie is my guy until he ain't in the running.
