Gee, I seem to recall Bernie being on the ballot.
I also recall him and his proposals getting rejected, too.

yeah, i am assuming they will roll over for him for the chance at filling ginsburg's seat with another young, federalist society hack.

If RBG doesn't make it to November I'm thinking we may be looking at a "Weekend at Bernie's" moment.

Trump's campaign at this point reminds me of a hooked, beached fish. It's flopping around, trying anything. All Biden and the Democrats have to do is put a foot on it. OTOH, I'm reminded of the smallmouth I reeled in once in Quetico Park, Ontario. A pike had fixed on it in a silver "T." The bass flopped on the rocks until it threw the lure, which the pike then grabbed. In two bounces, the bass was gone and I had a pike I didn't want. (This was documented by my wife's camera.) I hope to hell this is not an allegory...

Not sure if anyone remembers, but I made a comment here at least a couple different times - this was after the impeachment had wound up, Biden had emerged as the Democratic nominee, and the economy was clicking away - and some here bemoaned that it appeared unless the economy tanked, things looked very good for a re-elected president.

The comment I made was to the effect there was a lot of time left and something significant was going to happen.

At that time, I had no idea what that would be. Certainly a pandemic wasn't on my radar.

But that is what happened.

I'm not going to comment at this point on anyone's particular chances in the election, but I will say this pandemic really had a hell of an impact. And it ain't over yet.....

We'll see.....94 days left, I think.

I actually thought about your post earlier in the pandemic...

Trump has hurt his own chances by constantly opening his yapper. If this pandemic happened in 2012 then I would guarantee two things... 1) the economy would’ve tanked and 2) Obama would’ve won a close election. Trump’s mishandling of the pandemic has forced him into a Hail Mary situation. Had he held fewer briefings, didn’t constantly fight with health experts, and didn’t consistently try to sell people on false hope that there is a miracle drug out there then he probably would be looking at more of a 50/50 chance of winning.

Sure there is still time for him to win, but that window is closing quickly.
