Dr. Al Dudek....taught "Turfgrass Management" at UF while I was there. He was my counselor too so I got to know a little more of him than the regular students in the program. Super good guy and I've always missed him since graduating in '77. Wish I had kept in touch. His research work in the greenhouses mostly consisted of round pots of turf on the bench which obviously stood out from anyone else's. Godspeed Dr. Dudek....and thank you for all you did for your students and the green industry!

Mays was scheduled to attend the game at Rickwood tomorrow but earlier this week they said he wouldn’t be able to be there. Sad that he won’t be able to watch it.

I was six when he retired so his passing marks the death of the last great player I am too young to remember playing.

Definitely.

All-round Best is a tight debate between Mays and Aaron imo. Mays you get a bit more Defense and Aaron a bit more Offense.

As a Defensive CF I think Prime Griffey Jr and Prime Andruw Jones are the only players even close to Mays.

It's insane to think how many more HR's he would have hit if not for missing 2 full seasons to the Korean War and playing in a Park that was 480+ Feet deep in Center during the early years of his career.

He might have hit 800+

He was Incredible.
