2024 Recruiting: 2025 5* WR Ryan Williams commits

It is clear that Bama needs to get back to the difference making wide receivers we have now been lacking for 2 years.
I hear what you are saying but the QB and OL situation has hampered many things including the passing game.

FWIW, I think the WRs have performed far better than we thought they would after the A-day game.

All that said, a couple of 5 stars with improved QB play and I think we'll start looking more like more recent passing Bama offenses!

In fairness, it has to do with QB play. Milroe just isn't what we are used to, we have been very spoiled (4 starting NFL QBs, 3 of which were 1st round). The WRs that we have are very good. They get separation, the athleticism is on display, and as a group have very few drop passes. The ingredients are there to have a very good passing attack. Burton is one of the best WR in the conference. Bonds is emerging and quietly having a breakout year. Prentice always gets positive yards whenever he gets a chance to shine. Both Hale and Law show great potential.
Amari Jefferson and Rico Scott are very underrated for the 2024 class. Caleb Downs is one of the top tight ends in the country. All 3 along with the ones we have on the roster are going to be problems for opposing defenses in the future. This is by no means a Milroe bashing post, far from it. It's just a reminder that he isn't there yet. Will he get there ever? That remains to be seen.

Correct...JM is growing but not there yet.

The receivers on this team are very good. I just think CTR has them running routes that don’t really maximize their skill set because he’s trying to protect JM from turning the ball over. For example, Burton, Bond and Prentiss would be lethal on slants and shallow crosses. Getting the ball in space and on the move. JM’s strength is the deep ball and throws to the sideline. His flaw is he tends to overthrow passes at times. Which is a recipe for disaster when throwing over the middle. When he misses high on deep balls and out patterns it’s no big deal. There’s also much more to read defensively when throwing over the middle. CTR is trying to keep it simple so JM doesn’t have to think as much out there. I think next year the receivers will look much better because either JM will become more accurate or there will be a different guy playing the position.

Coach TR kind of has to call plays to "protect" against turnovers because of QB limitations. No other option but to do that.
I hope JM continues to grow, along with the rest of the offense.

Came to the McGill Toolen vs Saraland game to see Ryan Williams. He hasn't played a snap.

One of their other WRs though, Jordan Dee's, looks like a dude out there. Huge kid compared to others on the field.

First 2 minutes talk about Ryan Williams potentially flipping.
Man, I just think RW could have a tremendous impact at Bama.

I hope he doesn't fall for the Barn pitch.

I hope he also realizes what ever he's being told about "starring" at Auburn is weighed with the understanding that he'll be surrounded by better talent at Bama, can play for championships and still get to the NFL!

And I wish Perry Thompson would simply see the error of his ways!

The 93 yards Auburn threw for in the IB has them excited.
It's the recruiting pitch that is as old as time. At least as old as "Bo Jackson."

Come here and start immediately and change the program and become an AU legend. It *could* happen that way but it's rare a wide receiver OR a RB is that guy.

It could be argued Julio did it at Bama, but the real argument is who will play QB. Bama doesn't get it turned around as fast without GMac and AJM, who were nothing but winners. Who's gonna throw the ball next year at AU?

The safer bet is with Bama, no doubt! CNS can show his NFL wall to these guys and there are plenty of WRs starting in the NFL who have come thru T-town with various QBs who could get them the ball. What has Auburn produced? Freeze can offer an example or two from OM. CNS has a wall full.

Hope they make a business decision!
