2024 Recruiting: 2025 5* WR Ryan Williams commits

Oof. I've been grieving for a few days.

Saban was our key to keeping him. The reason I never doubted his commitment was the head coach was always the selling factor. Not exactly square one here but its an even playing field for all four schools I think. In our favor Deboer is a great WR coach, grubb is the best OC in college football, and shepherd is the guy I wanted to replace Wiggins anyway. So there is a chance. Deboer and staff haveto be ready to talk serious ball with him next weekend and have a plan for him in their offense. Which is a perfect fit for him btw.

Our NIL strategy was only effective when Saban was on staff. We have to adapt, if we don't we have very little chance here IMO.

If we can bolster whatever offer he had, and our staff impresses him than its possible he's can be resold. Especially if his visit next week includes one on one time with Nick Saban.

Fwiw. We hired the right coach. And offensive roster guys/signees and commits should be excited about the future but our counter to aggressive NIL just retired and the only school left that can pull that off is UGA so long as they have Kirby. The offensive guys you see decomitting are doing it for one reason and thats straight cash.

Bama has to get more aggressive in that space to give Deboer a fighting chance on the recruiting trail. Period.

Fwiw, auburn is not a lock here either id predict he ends up at Texas, but hope for the best.
Damn, how many players can Texas take? Wait.... As many as they want ( can afford? ). Good Lord I hate the thought of us having to go head to head with Texas in the player auction game. I don`t think we can win that.

One is Williams his visit is still on for next weekend.

I think the other is Ffrench....everything I said about Williams goes for him as well. To his credit he's still committed and seems to like the hire.
We have a better chance of hanging on to Ffrench than Williams. With that said, Williams is at least willing to reconsider his commitment to Bama with Deboer as the new HC. The offensive schemes from Deboer/ Grubb could really benefit him as WR in college. Once again, it's up to him.

My understanding is that it’s closer than you think due to Texas wanting to spread the money to all their sports, while Alabama’s primary focus is football.

Yea we offer a system both would excel in and we have plenty of playing time to offer now.

He wants to develop and go pro in 3 we have to sell him on the fact bama can still do that.

You mean Texas 8&4 with Wiggins. But that makes no sense either with Elko Being a new hire in College Station

Hey poke question… how would Texas get all these players? I mean dont they have a scholly limit too? Do they just “make room” been wondering that since this whole sale raid on our players started? Seems like these teams would have to get rid of players to have the room… ?? Just curious

Everyone has a limit but you'd have to take a look at their roster numbers to figure it out. They'll are still actively recruiting so they certainly have spots.

For the Talent on Alabama’s roster, teams will make room. Remember , they don’t have to be down to 85 until August I believe.
