I would not be surprised if no NFL. I think Ty will have a good to great year but I think Keelon will be our starter in 2026.
All speculation but if Ty is our QB this fall and we have a great year, hard to see him not being the guy in ‘26 if no NFL. Ty with 4 years and a year starting - he was a 5 star (I wrote dawg in my original post) in high school, too.

I am pulling for all our guys with the Crimson uni and know the QB position will get itself worked out. Our talented freshman got to compete for the first time in the Spring and now knows what he is up against. Same's true for the other two. Just pray for no injuries and no one is forced into action that hasn't won the battle outright. Ty is in the driver's seat for sure and leadership is a key component to the race. Gonna be fun to watch and I look forward to the competition. But there is a reason for taking 2 qbs in this cycle.

I feel like Mack has been challenging Milroe and Simpson last year. The potential is there and he really pushed Simpson this spring. Simpson is the starter for obvious reason but I wouldn't be shocked if the staff give him some reps this fall just to put tapes out there for him come December.

Russell is very good and ceiling is high but I still think he got long way to go. The competition is going to be intense next spring.
Was he? everything I heard and saw was that he was not last year or this past spring. Good news if in reality he was doing better than what’s heard.

My thought is if he has a "great" year he is gone to the NFL. If he has a "good" year he will most likely transfer since I don't see him holding off Keelon. I think Keelon is that special and was the #1 or #2 QB and overall recruit.

Kyallie posted this on the news thread on the football board. Feeling better and better about Ty going off this year.

“One thing about our team this year, I feel like we’re just so close,” Simpson said. “Nobody feels like they’re bigger than the team. Nobody feels like it’s all about them. And if somebody doesn’t do their job, then it’s all on us.”

If Ty has a "good" season and we make the playoffs. And he decides to come back, he will start. And the question becomes, "Will Keelon stay and start his junior year?"

I think we will need to win the NC and Ty be an All-SEC QB for your scenario to happen which I would welcome. However, this staff did not recruit Ty but they did Keelon.

I believe so, I know they are holding one for Tank, probably keep a couple open for transfers come spring
I think they'll use all spots. Anyone leaving team this December via NFL and graduation, I think Bama will have five to ten

Not speculation. I think it's more of what happens this fall with the performance of the offense.

With the commitment of Bear we moved up to #3 in team rankings on 247Sports Composite. There has been recent changes to how they now calculate rankings and 5*'s.

WHY IS THERE NOW A CHANGE?
As of July 2025, the 247Sports Composite will now include three recruiting services: 247Sports, ESPN and On3. This update comes as the recruiting landscape continues to evolve with On3 recently completing a rebrand under the Rivals name. While the new On3 brand carries forward the Rivals legacy, it is a distinct entity and not the same Rivals that was previously part of the 247Sports Composite formula. With that structural shift, the original Rivals rankings are no longer included in the 247Sports Composite system. It will now be made up of 247Sports, ESPN and the rebranded On3, with each service accounting for one-third of the formula, resulting in a 33.3% distribution across the three remaining rankings.

The 247Sports Composite's goal remains the same — to reflect a balanced, industry-wide perspective on player evaluations. This transition simply reflects changes within the recruiting media space, ensuring that the 247Sports Composite stays aligned with stable and current rating systems. By maintaining consistency and credibility, the 247Sports Composite can continue to serve fans, teams and recruits with the most accurate consensus data possible.

HOW ARE FIVE-STARS CALCULATED IN THE 247SPORTS COMPOSITE?
Unlike the 247Sports rankings, which assign exactly 32 five-star prospects per class to mirror the number of first-round NFL Draft picks, the 247Sports Composite uses a rating threshold to determine five-star status.

In the 247Sports Composite system, any player with a rating of 0.9834 or higher earns five-star designation. Because this threshold is fixed rather than tied to a set number of players, the total number of five-stars in the 247Sports Composite varies each year, depending on how many prospects meet the mark.

HOW WILL THIS AFFECT TEAM RANKINGS?
Because the 247Sports Composite ratings are recalculated based on the services it pulls from, removing the original Rivals data and shifting to a three-service model will impact individual player rankings.

Some prospects may see their Composite rating shift higher or lower depending on how their evaluations align across 247Sports, ESPN and the rebranded On3. Even small changes in player ratings can have ripple effects across the rankings, especially in tightly bunched recruiting classes.

Naturally, this also means team rankings will be affected. Though no 247Sports rankings have been affected, dozens of recruits in each class experience rating adjustments in the 247Sports Composite. Therefore, the overall 247Sports Composite score for that program's class will adjust as well. Some teams may move up or down in the rankings as a result, even if no new commitments have occurred.
