25-26 Roster Discussion/Speculation

I think this roster might be the closest to what Oats wants for his system. We don't need ball dominant players. Just a multitude of players who can distribute, defend and hit a 3 to keep us ahead in possessions.

Defense and length definitely seem to be his focus this offseason, I'm totally fine with that. I'd love to see a defense like the 22-23 team again. CNO system is going to produce on offense regardless at this point imo.

I thought so...but I think the staff thinks it's almost an automatic in Wrightsell's case.

I don't know about adding more and not sure we will ever get to 15. I heard we backed off the USC guard when Philon announced coming back.

You cant play with 11 players in SEC. That's unsustainable. You can get away with it until December, Jan... Feb is when you'll need the depth the most.

We backed off because we didn't need any more guards. Get two more players and that will get us to 13. I perfer him having 14, but 13 is enough. Injuries has hit Alabama hard in the last two years. So we need every players we can find and we will.

Just having a body to plug into a position where an injury occurs may not be any better than playing a better player out of his intended position, especially in positionless basketball. You simply cannot which position will be hit with injury.

Interesting European prospect but he is 21 years old. Hopefully he can develop quickly.

My thought is that we go the Bruce Pearl route of trying to find "Diamonds in the Rough" (Chaney Johnson) who come from smaller schools and are overlooked but are willing to come to Bama for the exposure and little to no NIL money. Some go-getters.
