Irrespective of Cam's stats or anyone else's, JM has to improve in the areas discussed to be an effective passer next season -- he needs to be an effective passer for his team (our team) to reach their goals.
JM needs to focus on what he can do to improve his own skillset to the benefit of the players around him -- not vice versa.
You're missing my point. It's not about JM being an NFL starter. Can we agree anyone with eyes can see that JM is nowhere close to being an NFL-caliber passer? What their reports say is that professional talent evaluators see JM as having the potential to improve in the areas we've been talking about. And, in fact, that they have already seen some improvement. Is that a fair takeaway?

Michigan knew exactly how to play defense against us. They didn't have to cover the middle because Milroe can't/won't throw there. That opened up UM to be able to blitz more and make JM make quick decisions, which he hasn't done all season long.
Add to that JM had no idea where the pressure was coming from because he can't read the defense.
So, Yeah, UM was certainly able to get pressure on the qb all night.

The difference is that BY CONSISTENTLY made plays when something broke down.
Has JM made some? Sure.
Has he done it consistently? Nope.
Are you saying that BY made plays to avoid a sack when pressure broke down?
BY was sacked 39 times in 2021. He was consistently sacked when pressure broke down just like JM.
I think a year under Pete Carrol at the Seahawks and he'll be ready.

Since everyone wants stats… Against the P5 Milroe only had 1 passing TD inside the 10 yard line. 3 against non p5 teams (none of them against texas)
And very few quarterbacks could have done that. Bryce was special.
Just looking at two SEC games… at the very least 3 more than Milroe. I think the strawman is effectively burned just looking at Florida and aTm alone so I don’t see the point in going further than that.

No you never asked that. You asked me how many passing TDs within the 10 yard line Daniels had.
Not to speak for 81, but maybe because TD passes inside the 10 are the hardest TD passes to make and require reading/reacting to coverages, anticipation, accurate ball placement, quick decision making, etc etc.
In other words, TD passes inside the 10 require a quarterback to be a quarterback. Those are exactly the things a lot of us are saying Milroe could never do which is why we were so limited at the QB position...

It’s just the wrong stat. Look above, I agree with the argument I just think the TDs inside the 10yd stat is not very compelling
