How do you make a legitimate adjustment to the time? Just start the clock. Bama players go off of the clock and it is not fair to take away seconds that they never saw leaving the clock. What if real time had taken it down to zero?

While watching the replay, use a stopwatch to decide the current time.

I understand the stopwatch part but it is still not right for the offense when they don't see the clock approaching zero. What if the stopwatch math took it past zero? It would be an instant turnover with the offense players never being aware.

That seems to be the unanswerable question. What happened to make us go from that team that beat UT/LSU to what we have scene the last five games.
