I get the feeling that Bama won't be taking this game for granted. If they were taking this one for granted more players would be sitting it out. I think the team is kind of angry about the way the season ended and have something to prove.

I hate to say it but I have very little confidence in this defence. They do absolutely nothing well. They are not sound schematically or fundamentally. Not assigning blame, just making an observation. Jones will have to score 40 or more to win.

Brother....I live in Spring Hill Tn. General Motors has moved nearly half the state of Michigan here...so what do you guess that game means to me??? I MAY be the only Southerner in Spring Hill. Just kidding about that...but not far from truth. They act as though I speak German at Kroger's. Ask me where I am from:D(y)

It is not a great thought but this is probably the most ineffective defense Saban has fielded here. We all know what is a large reason why but it is not even being a downer to admit it at this juncture.

The Diggs 100+ yd scoop n score is really the only significant play they've made all season. Any other situation where it was absolutely critical for them to get a stop, they failed. Heck, the fumble was really on the Vols QB ad libbing. If he had run the play called by the coaches, they were going to score a TD in all likelihood.

All we can do is hope they lose two more starters due to draft sit-outs and somehow perform better than they have all season. I've seen weirder things happen.

Here's to them proving it RTR

Really just got to hope for the best. It is all you can do. It ain’t like Michigan has looked fantastic all season. We got a good shot of winning it but it will take a little bit more than we got from the D in November. Not transformational...just a turnover or two, better stop rate in the 2nd half.

Given the time they have to prepare for UM I have a good feeling.
Having a month to watch film and such for one team and not having to change focus from week to week may make a big difference with the younger players. A little more time to discuss fundamentals, too.

Agreed, Auburn had one of the worst offenses in college football, the team had everything to play for and appeared motivated, and they still got torched by a QB absolutely NOBODY Had trouble stopping. They are actually worse than the sum of their parts it seems. I don't understand it at all. I really do hate to be a "debbie downer" but hoping for defense from this unit is like the hunt for life on mars. The chances are extremely low. At least in the 80's when I was in school we could put a QB out of the game or something. I don't recall the last time we retired a QB to the bench. You can say the rules have changed, but seems nobody had problems retiring Tua to the bench.

Perhaps Michigan wins this game but it would have to take an unmotivated Bama team, which is what we've seen in other similar bowl games in the BCS/CFP era.

I think if we show up focused we win on talent alone.

But the Michigan program in the last few years reminds me of a common Texas slogan: "Big hat, no cattle."

As for our Defense.....Coach Saban has been to every game this year. He saw everything that happened or didnt happen. He knows what needs to happen for a revitalized form of Defense. He was disappointed too. And I am talking about things which were about coaching. No one could have predicted all the injuries. Spring will be tough this next year. I am no coach, but I think some coaches may move to other positions, and some may not be there. His widom and experience will take it from here. Many changes loom. Go get 'em Bama. Looking forward to the Awbun game. And That other one in Baton Red.
