There is a lot wrong with this statement. First of all, no one retired Tua to the bench except Georgia last year, and of course Tennessee/Mississippi State this year. Each of those were because he was, perhaps unwisely, trying to extend plays. NOT because the opposing defense was doing anything special in getting to him.

Also, despite their win against us, I beg to differ that Nix torched our defense. He didn't hit 200 yards passing, and had a 50% completion rate. He made some nice plays, but nothing special. I'll agree, our defense didn't get enough stops in the game especially in critical situations. But this notion that Nix looked like an All-American against us... that dog won't hunt. Which of course, makes the result all the more infuriating.

The defense is going to do fine in this game. The offense is going to score a lot of points. We'll win if we don't turn the ball over. We'll blow them out if our LBs have a good game.

If we do indeed play good defense and "blow them out" I will be happy to come back and declare my error. Because nothing would make me happier. I'd rather be the village idiot fan of a great (or at least competent) Alabama defense than spend one more minute looking at that trainwreck we put on the field this year.

That "trainwreck" was only in comparison with our prior years. We were 15th in the nation, overall...

So, according to what Saban said in his live updates today, Tua is the only player on the team who got a "Top 15 grade" back from the NFL draft experts. He said only one player got that, and he is injured... so I assume it would be Tua. I wonder what Jerry Jeudy got. Surely he was in the 1st round somewhere. The article about this is on al.com.

JJ had to be close, but remember that he was not a Biletnikoff finalist because of his reduced touches.

I wonder what the players think about Saban saying that only one player was in the top 15 evaluation grade. I wonder if they would have liked that information to be private?

Some players have big decisions to make soon.

Saban is trying to help those players make the right decision, and offered his support of the players no matter their choice - but he has also always been pretty transparent about players leaving too soon.

take away the pick sixes and it’s 52-34 which is much more what that game looked like!

Giving up two pick sixes and the Zebras making inexplicable calls had nothing to do with it...?
I’ve been showing my wife during bowl season how they start the clock waaaaay before the refs blow the whistle to allow a snap. They say they have to have THREE Seconds MINIMUM to get a play off but we’ve watched and it is usually FOUR seconds that tick off before play starts. That’s another 3 points so the score goes to 52-31. Amazing how much three plays can swing a game and season frankly.

Let's hope that we are the team making all of the plays today. I want us to leave no doubt and put a beatdown on the Wolverines. Bama. Michigan. Blue bloods. Let's get it on.
I was pretty meh 😑 about the lead up to the game but now I’m ready. Maybe it’s only me but I want our guys to lay an epic woodshed beat down of these guys!!!!
