Alabama vs. WKU Postgame Thread

This offense was perfect for our defense to play so they can improve their communication and help eliminate these problems. Two of our best defenders were unavailable and we still pitched a shutout.

Offensively, Cyrus is a first year starter, he's going to get burned. Yeldon will be hot and cold as he develops consistency, We will get better.

Our O-line still need to improve a lot. I'm happy for AJ's 4 touchdowns, but I'm very nervous about the 6 sacks. OTs, please, live up to your Hype.
Fowler's injury is a huge blow. Maybe I'm exaggerating, I think he is the I-formation... I don't think we have anyone capable of completely replacing him.
As stacked as we are, there are a few positions being rather thin:
QB- We know from day 1, we don't have quality depth there, but again, who does? OL needs to protect AJ
RB- After Fowler's injury, Lacy not being 100%, we have 3 healthy backs left without a whole lot of game experience against SEC defense
DT- With Jesse's injury, we just yanked Lake's redshirt

buckle up. There may be some turbulence ahead of us.

RTR

Lake was never going to redshirt.

Funny all "Grievances" have to be "Aired Here" when the entire Tidesorts Football Board has multiple posts about UGA, Mizzou, Auburn, Arkansas - anything but Alabama.

Coach Saban fell below standard today imo, especially after his press conference dramatics

Here's why it's "not funny" that we do it that way. Because there will be 100 times the post on this board concerning Alabama's game than the other's combined. So to keep the mods from having to monitor 200 different threads about the same game we have one post game thread.

We won 35-0! Sure we had some mistakes but go ask auburn and arkansas how they are fairing! If CNS did such a "bad" job then go apply for the job. Fell below standards? 2 NC's in 3 years... i'm sure he's sorry they didn't just hand it to the team this year and cancel the football season because the champion has been declared. I don't see what was so wrong with todays game... coaching points for the staff? Certainly... but why all of the negativity and disappointment from so many? I don't get it....

P.S. I'm starting to feel like CNS when he has one of those "It ...... me off" moments

This is where I am coming from. My goodness, we can have an off week. And when your off week consist of winning 35-0, I am happy and content. Of course we have things to work on, but have faith that Saban is working on a plan right now.

Try moderating a forum sometime, and maybe you will feel differently. (And, yes, I have...........it was the pits. Never again!) Having done so, I always ask how I would have done it, and then bit my lip. Even when it hurt.

But multiple threads on Auburn or anyone else are allowed???

If this an Alabama site for discussion, why do the Mods feel they have to parcel every discussion into one thread? You guys cannot examine more than one thread or two?? The posters here are pretty much mature and level-headed, and I am not really sure why you think every thread / post needs to be micromanaged

Or TWO?!!! LOL! Were you not around before creating the "post game thread"? It was miserable and next to impossible to moderate. Any further discussion of moderation issues need to be addressed via PM's.

An off week is one thing.

Losing a key player when you have your starting QB dropping back to pass with 6 minutes left in a game already decided is just bad management.

Exactly.. an off week where you shut the other team out and score 5 Td's... yes please! It's a sandwich game... coming off of a big win over MEECHAGAN to start the season then to play WKU before SEC play opens against arkie... of course the players had a little drop off.. but if a drop off consists of a 35-0 win.. i'll take it... be proud of the team and trust the coaching staff especially since we have the best HC in all of football... sheesh!
Alabama is 2-0. Roll Tide, anybody?

And two games in, after winning both by a combined 76-14!

'Yah, season's over, we'll be lucky to stay competitive with the barners...'

Some folks drink too much - that's all I can think...

AJ deserve some of the blame also, he held the ball too long. Throw it away and move to the next play versus losing 10 yards. It appeared that there where several new plays being worked on by the offense and still some adjustments in play calling, giving an expanded look for future opponents to think about. I also saw lots of players on the D side getting playing time as well as some on offense(though not as many) will continue getting better this season and have quality people prepared to step in if needed.

you get out of here with that logical and sane post.

No, it's just bad luck. Would it have been better if he'd gotten hurt running the ball up the middle? He is valuable a s a lead blocker, but he is also the third string back so I don't have issue with him being in the game.

What would you do, run three times and punt since they already have the box loaded? Or, do you do what you need to to maintain possession and keep running the clock out. I think the latter.

There are several areas we need to improve on. But guys, let's remember that we had some OL issues last season as well that we had to work on from game to game. So let's not freak out just let.

Furthermore, WE (the fans) are the ones regurgitating this nonsense that the media is pumping up about the best offensive line in Alabama history. THEY didn't say they were. When they say they have work to do and have to keep improving, don't always take it as a repeat of coach-speak. Sometimes they mean it.

I also think that speech to the media the other day was meant to be heard by the players more than it was directed towards anyone else.
