ADMIN NOTE: And... We're Back! RTR! TideFans is on the new Xenforo platform.

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

So what's the trick to posting an image? It first said the file was too large. So I made it small, but still no go. I've tried tapping "Attach files" and tapping the picture icon. Neither work for me.

I've tried this but whenever I click on a forum or thread it just opens it in a new tab in the full Safari app. I can't figure out how to get it to stay in the bookmark web app.
Actually, I'm not sure what you mean "in the bookmark web app" ? Can you clarify what phone and app you are using?

It sounds to me like it's doing exactly what we want it to do (add icon to your homescreen and open in Safari.) But, sounds from you like it's not doing what you want it to do?

MUCH faster! EZ posting tweets & videos. only cri·tique on sports sites one has to open the piece to post it and copy the image where one has to choose open image in new tab, so far the image want load due to size, old VBulletin would lad a whole lot bigger image or images. No big deal, the only advantage of the old vs new and new is better hands down!!

Tweets/videos - just have to put the full url in and it takes care of formatting etc for you ... so easy! :)

I might suggest that for articles to say, espn or cbssports or any other site (see my 3 examples below) that you just post the url to the story (copy from the browser url bar) and then just paste in a post. It will pull in the small picture, the link to the story headling and a synopsis ... like below (where I just copied the url to the article and pasted it just like that in the post). keeps it very clean. THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO!

For those not getting to the "first unread post" in a thread, have you done this?

First you should know that every post was unread when the new site was launched. So, nothing is "read" until you mark it read by either reading the posts or clicking the "mark read" link at the top of the forum page.

Afterward, just launch a thread by clicking on the thread title link and you will be taken to the first unread post in that thread.

I hadn't paid attention to that. It does go to Safari, but seems a quicker access than opening the Safari browser. I may have something else open in Safari. The bookmarklet takes me straight to TideFans, no matter what is open in Safari.
