Andre Smith Update

These two pictures are not for the faint of heart. :eek2:

Apparently Andre stood up and gave a thumbs up to the Florida student section after they did an organized "We want Andre" chant with participation of the Gator dancing girls.

Is Tebow's arm around Andre? I didn't know they were that close.

Get ready for full meltdown come Wednesday!!! :eek2:

I was just kidding. Tebow is putting something in his pocket and it looked like he had his arm around Andre.

Here is a better shot of the situation. Looks like rejection to me. :)

Well let's not forget that Tebow certainly got all our hopes up when our students went crazy over him. However, the thought of Andre just being down there has made me sick.

I can't confirm that thumbs up. Conveniently the Gator that took those pictures said he just missed the thumbs up. So I will just have to take his word for it. A thumbs up doesn't mean anything but good job or thanks. ;)

What a recruiting year this has been. The last weekend and Whitehead the top visitor to Tuscaloosa is reportedly a heavy lean to Auburn, a top Bama commit Alexander is in Auburn at the Georgia/Auburn game and to top it all off Bama's number one target Smith is in the student section with Florida's # 1 commitment at the Vandy/Florida game. Talk about anxiety. :conf2:

Personally at this point I just want the NSD to get here and be over with. CMS must be chewing some antacids about right now.

I was wrong. His father did make the trip with him. I still say he's Bama all the way. I think the guy on the other side of Tebow is CB recruit out of Naples that we got in on late.

maybe CMS already knows...

the "thumbs up" could easily mean "ok. ok. that's nice, I appreciate it, I acknowledge you acknowledging me...now leave me alone". I think any other response or none at all could get him "angry mobbed".

I agree, I think he may well be just responding to the crowd - it doesn't mean that he is ready to commit to the gators. He might just do that, but I still think he is Bama Bound

Same here. I can't find much but a bunch of Gator fans arguing if Smith is a lock to Bama or if he will pick USC. lol I would say indications are strong that it is a two team race for Andre right now between Alabama and USC with most thinking he will sign with Alabama.

That's Smith and his family with Tebow. I don't know how the visit went. A few posters, on Gatorsports MB, have reported that the visit went well.

If what the gaytor fans are saying is true, then there is no way he goes anywhere other than Bama. I just don't see the Smiths moving their whole family to Florida, especially considering that Christian is going to be a senior at Huffman next year and is another D1 prospect. What happens if Christian decides to go someplace other than where Andre goes? Will momma Smith move to the town where Christian is playing while Andre Sr. stays in Goobville? I'll go ahead and beat the FU fans to it: Christian is joining the Tebow cult, too.

As of right now, Christian says he is going where Andre goes.

But much to yall's surprise, the credibility of an 18 year old is sometimes questioned. :)

I guess there is no news to report after Andre's visit to Gainesville.
Word is that he is giving the same standard report that he has at the end of all his other visits... had a good time, got to sit down and talk w/ the coach, and enjoyed hanging out with the players (Manson was his host). Claims that USC, UA, UF, and another school (can't remember which one) are all in a dead heat for his signature... also, that he is going to sit down, write everything down, consult his parents, and pray about the decision. Got to feel good that he's said essentially the same thing about every visit... helps put my mind more at ease about his expected commitment to UA. ;)
